Questions & Answers

What does it mean to have a maximum of 100 labels per day?

That's pretty much it. This isn't a printer that's part of a production line. It's made for field electricians who have to mark and terminate wires on the fly. Locate and identify the wire, strip the end, mark it, and terminate it, then repeat the process until the job is completed. In most cases, identifying wires, wrapping the label, and making the termination takes longer than printing the label. This is not the printer for you if you want it to spit out label after label so you can mark whatever you're marking after you've printed all the labels. It'll suffice for field electrical work.

Brady is the name of a good friend of mine. Is this a product that he would benefit from?

This label printer kit is of industrial quality. They've been in use at the company where I worked for a long time. I purchased one for my own use. They work fine, but I'm not sure how the user's name has anything to do with it.

Are the printed labels water- and chemical-resistant?

Selected User Reviews For Brady BMP21-PLUS-KIT1 Printer Kit

Labeler was used for approximately one working week over the course of two years (4 cartridges), the roller mechanism is flawed and will not apply sufficient pressure if left in storage with a cartridge inside
3/5

br>br>After two years, the bottom half of the labels would not print; after consulting Brady, they said the printer was no longer under warranty (2 years) and that there was nothing else they could do. Their response was to go out and purchase a new printer, which was extremely disappointing.

Brother (one of the orange-colored ones you have) was one of my favorites
5/5

Last year, I purchased one of these to replace a broken Brother unit that I had dropped while working on a system installation. I liked that Brother (one of the orange-colored ones available at Home Depot), and was on the verge of purchasing another one, but instead decided to look into self-laminating labels, as the cable flag on the Brother was unsightly and unprofessional. br>br>I saw this Brady unit at Home Depot, but I preferred the kit I found on Amazon, which included the case and charger. I also purchased a magnet base for it since then. br>br>I've recommended this unit to several friends who work in the same field as me, and they've all purchased one. For cable work, the self-laminating labels are fantastic, and there are many other styles and colors to choose from. The battery is said to last "forever" - Okay, not literally, but in terms of my use of it, it's been a long time. It was still working after eight hours of continuous use. If you work in an environment where mounting or sitting this on a table makes more sense, the magnet base and stand are useful additions. The neck strap is a little long and thin for my liking, but that can easily be fixed with another strap. br>br>Aside from the self-laminating label option, another major benefit I see with this printer is that, while there is less tape per cartridge than in other systems like the Brother I had, I believe that because of the way this unit works, you waste less tape per print, meaning you get more out of the 14' in the spool. br>br>Overall, a fantastic unit that has performed admirably.

What You Pay For Is Exactly What You Get
5/5

This printer is outstanding. Everything I could ever want is printed on it. It can print very small on a 1/4 tape, very large on a 3/4 tape, or anywhere in between. It's also capable of reading barcodes. Unlike other printers, this one uses only the amount of tape you need and wastes none so they can sell you more tape faster. On a single charge, the lithium Ion battery lasts for a long time. The case is nice and holds everything very securely, and it's designed for rough industrial use, so it'll last a long time. I could go on and on about how fantastic this labeler is. I'm at a loss for words for something negative to say. This printer/labeler is not inexpensive, but as you've probably heard, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

This is by far the best and most versatile label machine I've ever used
5/5

The nylon cloth tape adheres to almost any surface. Excellent for labeling wires and cables, breaker boxes, and anything else you want to label. This is an excellent starter kit. There are only two minor issues: 1 The rechargeable battery must be connected to the charger via a direct connection. The battery will not be charged by simply plugging in the charger. 2 Instead of being in alphabetical order, the keyboard would be easier to use if it was set up in a standard QWERTY layout. br>Overall, a fantastic label machine that I use on a regular basis.

It works well, and I have no complaints (except for a few suggestions)
5/5

This was purchased for my home, which already had an excessive number of computers (with more on the way). Only about half of the ethernet cables on my 16 port and 8 port switch were correctly labeled. Everything is now clearly labeled on both ends thanks to this labeler, a tracer, and a minor struggle. The WireMarker label type is set to 1 in this example. The 2 inch length is ideal for CAT 6, and I was able to select a font that is easier to read than some of my previous labels. I like how it saves tape (short path from print head to tape exit) and has a lot of options for both general and wire labeling. You do have to press the keys firmly, and I think a QWERTY layout would make typing more convenient for me. Because the Print button is so close to the Clear (backspace) button, I accidentally wasted a few labels by pressing the wrong one. The labels themselves are excellent and stay in place well while being easily removed. The only information in the manual is self-explanatory. The real manual, however, is available on Brady's website and includes a detailed description of all of the supported label types (e. g. , barcode labels). Banner Portrait, Vial, and so on. ) The fact that you have to charge the battery outside the unit seems odd (as if it was an afterthought), but I don't expect to need to do so very often for my application. In the end, this made a tedious task more bearable, so I'd buy it again if the need arose. I'm labeling all of the HDMI cables on my receiver right now (not today, but soon).

The structure is excellent
4/5

One might think that paying this much money for a "label Maker" is insane. We purchased Office Max units, but they did not fare well in the factory. When it falls to the ground, it continues to tick. The low-cost ones are always narrow as well. This has some 1 1/4" labels, but they're hard to come by in the safety colors we need on Amazon. I wish it was capable of handling two people. 3 inches. To go any bigger, you'll need a $600 non-mobile special printer, as well as a PC and adhesive label stock.

Excellent Labeler
5/5

After years of using Dymo and Rhino labelers, the Brady is a step up and a lot more user-friendly. The cartridge insertion is straightforward, and I particularly like the feed method. There is less tape waste, and the unit keeps the tape after it has been cut so it does not fall to the ground. br>br>In comparison to the Rhino versions, the self-laminating with fold over is unquestionably superior. Removing the backing is simple, and the adhesion is excellent. The 1. CAT6 cables are ideal for 5" tapes. br>br>Their tapes, like those of all the label brands, are overpriced for what they are. br>My only minor quibble so far is that charging the lithium battery necessitates removing it from the case.
