Fellowes LX20M Powershred Micro Cut 12 Sheet Paper Shredder (Black)

Years ago, I used to have a Fellowes Shredder and it was fantastic. I bought a cheap one from Amazon Basics to save money, but it overheated after a month and stopped working. That's what I get for not investing in a REAL heavy-duty shredder and saving the money. br>br>I adore this shredder and eagerly anticipate shredding my junk mail with it. br>br>A) It has a sensor that stops it from shredding if your hand or fingers touch the paper entry slot. It will shred again after about four seconds, and will do so every time your hand or fingers come into contact with the slot. Awesome. br>br>B) If you load a large amount of paper into the shredder at once, a red light will illuminate around the paper entrance and the shredder will not work. If you put in a moderate amount (not too thick, not too thin), an orange light will illuminate around the paper entrance, and it will occasionally stop and reverse, pushing the paper out because you put in a little too much. A green light will turn on around the paper entrance if you are putting in the required amount for it to shred properly. When I put all three thicknesses in the shredder at the same time, all three lights in the appropriate areas lit up. Awesome. br>br>C) Fellowes recommends oiling this shredder every time you empty the paper bin; a great instructional video on how to oil this shredder can be found on YouTube. br>br>D) There is a great deal of silence. For me, it's a perfect score. br>br>E) It includes easy-to-follow instructions, a small bottle of oil, and three small trash bags in which to place your paper.

This shredder is roughly the same size as a carry-on bag. in a suitcase It micro- cuts the paper in a safe and non-destructive manner to be recognized It has an amazing safety feature that prevents your hand from getting too close to the paper. It stops shredding when it comes into contact with the feeding entrance. This machine can easily handle multiple sheets at once and is quiet enough to be acceptable. You can't expect paper to be ultra-thin by shredding it. quiet. It also has several indicators that tell you if the machine needs to rest, if the bin is full, if you're using too much paper at once, and so on. Overall, this is an excellent purchase; the only drawback is that the inside gets dusty, which is to be expected.

I wanted a shredder that could help me deal with the recent influx of Amazon boxes in my house and allow me to recycle them as worm food or compost; I also wanted it to be micro-sized. cut and calculated the 20-percentage point Single sheets of cardboard should be no problem for this shredder because of its page capacity. It explicitly states that cardboard will not be accepted in the manual, so that was an oversight on my part; however, perhaps they all state this. br>br>It's not a bad performance. When it wants to, the shredder does a good job with my cardboard, and I believe it will continue to do so as long as I keep it in good condition. the lubrication The motor does not appear to be clogged, as it would be with most low-cost shredders. However, it is extremely picky about positioning, which makes shredding more difficult than it needs to be. You won't have this problem with the less expensive shredders that lack features or the much more expensive ones that have more power. I understand what the little lights are trying to tell me, but I'd much rather the shredder try to shred first before telling me it can't.

It notifies you when the bin is nearly full, allowing you to prepare a new bag, as well as when a cool down period is approaching. I've had it for about a week and have successfully shredded a few thousand pages (I was backed up). It never even got close to cooling down. It simply continued to function. Your safety is guaranteed because the shredded pieces are so small.

This is a high-quality home shredder that can be used at home or in a small business. It's well-made, slim, and fits neatly into a corner. For a machine that is designed to crunch and shred, the motor runs quietly. It's simple to get to and empty the bin. When you're shredding, the safety features and light indicators are fantastic. It changes color on the top to show how hard it's working (but really to tell you if you've put too much paper in at once for it to handle). I would definitely recommend it if you want a tank of a shredding machine that looks super professional, is quiet, and isn't too big, and don't mind spending around $250 for it. I've had other shredders for a few hundred dollars less that do the job but aren't as strong and make a lot more noise, which Fellowes also makes. In conclusion, I believe this will be a high-quality product that will look nice, be less noisy, and last a long time, and I've been very pleased with it so far after several months of moderate use.

It didn't work out of the box at all. The shredder barely worked right out of the box. The bin open indicator was stuck on. I can see where it's located and how it's triggered, and the bin's tab was not broken or malfunctioning. Simply put, the bin and the fit are shoddy. The only way to get the shredder to work was to throw a lot of stuff in the bin while it was being shred. To say the least, it's not ideal, and now I have to deliver the bulky, heavy item to an Amazon depot before they can begin processing my refund. Meanwhile, I've placed an order for a shredder from a different manufacturer.

Although it is prohibitively expensive for a paper shredder, I am hopeful that it will serve me well for many years. On the other hand, Amazon Prime has yet again failed to deliver in two days. It has nothing to do with the product, but it is beginning to show its age. What started out as a fantastic service has deteriorated to the point where you can only get it in two days on rare occasions. Unfortunately, this is the case.
