Questions & Answers

What is the size of the basket?

14" in height, 14" in depth, and 9" in width. 1/4 ". Because shreds are so small, a lot of them can fit in the bin before it needs to be emptied.

Is there anything else I need to get to keep this machine running smoothly, and are there any maintenance instructions included with the shredder? Thank you very much. ?

Here's what you should be aware of:
1. Fold a piece of paper and squeeze some shredder oil along the crease once or twice a month. The paper must then be shredded.
2. Attempting to shred 10 sheets of stiff paper at once is not a good idea.br>3. When you try to empty the bin, don't let it fill to the top because it will make a mess. Apart from that, this is the best shredder I've ever used.

I like this machine, but it's too heavy to empty for me as a senior citizen with back problems. Please suggest a shredder that is comparable but lighter. Is this too much for you?

I got an AmazonBasics 24 sheet shredder to replace mine. The bin can be pulled out, and the entire assembly can be moved around on wheels. So far, the replacement has met my expectations.

Shredder dimensions are 16 x 12 x 20 inches, according to the specifications. 38 inches in length help! Is it hx wx d or hx wx d or hx wx d or hx 38 is a shredder with a lot of depth. Is it true that the shredder has a capacity of 20 sheets? 38" deep?

12 inches in depth, 16 inches in width, and 20 inches in length. 38 years old and a demon in the workplace

QUIET | It Cuts Like Butter
5/5

I used to have a FELLOWES cross-cut paper shredder. cut style, with its own bin / basket attached; a medium-duty, medium-priced item that overheated (as expected) after 15 minutes of continuous use It only accepted two sheets of paper at a time, and the motor still ran after ten years of light to medium use (junk MAIL), but it stopped accepting paper. So, here I am, having recently purchased a NEW model! After reading REVIEWS, I was intrigued by this model, which claimed to have "lasted 10 years" and "shredded an entire filing drawer without stopping. " | I had a grocery BAG full of paperwork to shred, which I usually save and shred all at once. This machine appeared to be up to the task! | The machine finally went into "overheat" mode and turned off the motor after 1 1/2 HOURS of continuous shredding. It had COOLED DOWN and was ready to go again after an hour. | I adore how easily the BIN slides in and out, which I then empty into a 30-gallon bag; After five full bins, it's half full! When the bin is removed, the shredding blades and motor are disabled as a built-in safety feature. | The WHEELS glide easily and even have a locking mechanism. put yourself in their shoes! | The shred SIZE is about the same size as a pea; The government shreds their sensitive documents using the next smallest size! | When a piece of paper enters the feeding slot with even a slight CRUMPLED edge or if the paper bunches up, the shred size resembles that of a cross-cut shred. cut. It doesn't happen very often, and it doesn't bother me, but it's a useful hint! | This machine is QUIET and could be operated from a sleeping person in the next room. | I've only fed 3 sheets of PAPER at a time to keep the motor from being overworked and thus lasting as long as possible. It also depends on the thickness, weight, and other factors. br>br>*************UPDATE******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** In about 5 minutes, approximately 2" of paper will shred and fill the bin! After filling the bin three times in a row, the machine overheated one time. The cool down period, which lasted about 30 minutes, was fantastic!.

Use a plastic grocery bag to make it easier to empty
5/5

But it's loud and heavy on the top. This is my second purchase of this model shredder, as the first died after 5 years and 11 months of service. Shredding a credit card by inserting it alone over the safety tab/switch inside the paper slot, I believe, was what killed it. (In the future, I'll tape the plastic card off-center so it doesn't feed straight through the switch. ) )br>br>Over the years, I've used, owned, and looked at a lot of shredders. I've owned larger professional-style shredders with pull-out drawers and larger capacity, as well as single-sheet shredders that are ineffective because they only shred single sheets (and tossed them). or jam . Alternatively, you could just make strips, which isn't exactly a secure way to get rid of sensitive data. br>br>A shredder must be powerful enough to shred multiple sheets with staples in order for me to use it. It also needs to be easy to use and empty. The rest is up for discussion. Here's why I bought it again (thankfully, it's still available after 5 years) and what the drawbacks are. cons. Advantages: br>br> br>Shreds well and does not jam. br>Easy to empty – here's a hint: A standard plastic grocery bag fits inside the paper container. br>Reasonable capacity for home use – empty once a week. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>Loud – this thing screams. . . would be extremely annoying to use for an extended period of time. br>Top heavy – to clean, you must remove the heavy top and place it on the floor (or somewhere). You'll have to manually pick up a few hanging shreds in addition to the weight. Overall, I prefer the fact that it does not jam easily and is simple to clean, especially if you use a plastic grocery bag, to the annoying noise level and heavy top that must be removed to clean. br>br>I can walk away after dropping off a few papers. I can empty this thing in under 30 seconds without having to deal with a strew of stray paper pieces that fall out when emptying into another container. And it's for this reason that I went out and purchased another shredder.

Follow the shredding timer and clean the paper dust from the sensor
5/5

The machine stopped working after I followed the oiling instructions that came with it. I was about to throw it out and buy a new one because nothing I tried would get it to start again. Finally, I read a review from another customer who claimed that over-oiling the sensor can cause paper dust to stick to it. If the sensor is covered in paper dust, he says all you have to do is clean it with a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of alcohol. It was successful! Instead of oiling the shredder, I began using the Shredder Sharpening and Lubricant Sheets. Every now and then, paper dust settles on the sensor, which can be removed with a cotton swab soaked in a small amount of alcohol. Customer reviews on Amazon are a godsend for accurate information. The machine works well as long as you stick to the shredding time guidelines, which are only 5 minutes for continuous shredding on this machine. However, it takes only 5 minutes to fill the shredder bin. Allow for a minimum of 20 minutes of cooling time after shredding for 5 minutes.
