Questions & Answers

How many sheets of paper can you fit into the machine at the same time?

I agree that the 8-sheet limit didn't work for my shredder, as it struggled to shred even 5 sheets after 13 months of ownership and then blew up on me with a friend nearby! It popped, and a blue flame erupted, which smoked for a few minutes. The paper, luckily, did not catch fire. I'm hoping I didn't come into contact with anything too toxic as a result of it, but it was terrifying. After this, I'm not sure I'll buy this shredder again. I had it plugged into a high-end surge protector as well, so I'm not sure what went wrong. However, I would never shred 8 sheets of paper at once in my shredder. On the 'last day' of its life, I could hear it'struggling' at 4 sheets. RIP!

Is it capable of shredding the new chip-enabled credit cards? Because of the chip cards, my previous shredder has broken. ?

Chipped credit cards, in my opinion, would not be a problem. It's unlikely that the shredder will notice. The chip is a sliver of copper that is extremely thin and brittle. Try looking up the manual for the shredder you're considering; if it can handle staples and small paperclips, a chipped card should be no problem.

Why is it that shipping takes 1 to 2 months?

I went back to look at the item, and it says prime eligible, which means it will arrive in 2 days!

Is an oil better than a lubricant or sharpening sheets for this machine?

'DO NOT USE OIL,' advises the manufacturer. The NUOVA Shredder Sharpening and Lubricant Sheets are easy to use, so I bought them. br>I shred one sheet per month and then run it through the shredder in reverse for ten seconds. I've been doing this since I bought the shredder, and it's helped to reduce the amount of paper dust that accumulates on the shredder's underside, as well as the problem of paper sticking to the teeth.

Selected User Reviews For Aurora AU1020MA High-Security 10-Sheet Micro-Cut Paper, CD and Credit Card Shredder with Pullout Basket

It's still great after eight months! The price point is excellent for everything it shreds, including dossiers, DVDs of pee pee videos, Russian bribes, and so on
5/5

I'd like to use it to shred the NetGear WIFI Extender, which was a piece of garbage from Amazon that took up an entire day with tech support, but whether you're trying to avoid federal prison by shredding incriminating treasonous documents or simply cleaning out your file cabinet, this shredder won't let you down. I've had it for eight months and no jury has yet to find me guilty!.

A bonus is having a home office
5/5

Credit card shredding that is quiet, efficient, and effective. Everything breaks down into teeny-tiny pieces. I read a lot of reviews before deciding to try this one for my home office, and I'd like to join the chorus of praise. It's been about ten months since I got it. It's a lot more durable than the ones at our local Office Depot/Office Max in the same price range. I don't use it every day, but I do keep a sack with everything that needs to be shredded in it. Then, once or twice a month, I sit down and shred for about half an hour. My previous one was always hot, and I had to take a 15-minute break to let it cool down before it would want to work again. This one takes care of the job quickly and efficiently. But, just to be safe, I don't put more than 5 sheets in at a time. I want it to last, and there's no need for me to hurry.

Although I won't be able to do 8 sheets, the shreds are very small! Every shredder from every manufacturer gets a one-star penalty for overstating its capacity
4/5

Only the thinnest rice paper will fit through this shredder's 8-sheet capacity. I stuffed 6 sheets of junk mail into it, and it began to groan. The reverse switch, on the other hand, worked perfectly and there was no jamming. br>br>Aside from that, it's a great product for the money; we've only gone through 50 pages so far, but the shreds are so small that strip shredders look ridiculous. Take a look at the image below. shreds of paper br>br>Congratulations to the buyer.

Micro-office for light to medium duty in the home
4/5

shredder for cutting It's been less than a month since I got it. I bought it to replace my old straight cut machine, which had finally given up the ghost after many years of service, and I must admit that, despite seeing the dimensions when I ordered it, I was surprised at how small it actually appears out of the box. No worries, though, because the micro cut shreds settle much more compactly, and after 4 weeks of intermittent use, I'm about to empty it for the first time. Another plus is how much quieter it is than my old machine, which was the first thing both my wife and I noticed when we used it. I can only assume that reviewers who complained about the model's noise had a defective unit, were first-time shredder buyers, or were expecting something similar to the large high-capacity shredders. This one is ideal for light to medium duty use in my home office. br>Other observations include: The top grip area makes this machine far easier to remove from its waste bin than my older machine, and I have yet to bog it down in terms of capacity. The actual sheet capacity is about what you'd expect. That's about half to two-thirds of the "rating," because most of the stuff I have to shred is heavier than 20 pounds, so I only feed two. With 24lb or heavier stock, printing three sheets at a time slows it down slightly. The following are the only drawbacks I've encountered that have caused me to deduct a star: I was worried about the waste container being tipped over by the dog because of its shape, but I solved that by tucking it in between a printer stand and a small storage unit. Second, the feed slot is just barely over 8. Because it's 5 inches wide, you'll need to "aim" a little more than my old machine to feed it. Only time will tell whether this is my first experience with the Aurora brand, but so far I am very pleased, especially considering the price I paid.

The shredder was delivered to my home on August 7th, 2018, and as of August 17th, 2018, it is no longer functional
3/5

Before today, I had only shredded paper twice in it. Now, when I tried to do something in the shredder this morning, it would not move or turn on. I even moved it around the house to make sure it wasn't the outlet by changing plugs. It's just not going to work. I had the product for ten days and had only used it twice before it stopped working. I knew it was too good to be true when the price was so low.

This is a great shredder for your home or office
5/5

This shredder is ideal for use at home or in the office. for use in the workplace I've bought a lot of shredders over the years, and Aurora shredders have always done a good job at a reasonable price. br> It's necessary to cut, or else having a shredder is pointless. However, there are numerous micro-businesses that cut shredders are either far too low-powered or far too high-powered. Too small (for commercial use) or too big (overheats quickly). This is a good size for putting under a desk or table. It is classified as a medium-sized business. Use a lot of it. You could read hundreds of pages, but then it would need to cool down. for a period of time As a result, it is not suitable for those who shred a large amount of paper at once. It's nice that it has a narrow basket. br>br> The majority of shredders have a higher square-footage capacity. ish pull- This one, on the other hand, has a narrow basket that makes it simple to dump the contents into a small trash bag without spilling anything. I put everything in a grocery paper bag and toss it in the paper recycling bin. If you shred more than a ream of paper at a time, go to a local office supply store and get a larger shredder. Apart from that, it's a good unit. br>br>BTW, after about ten months, mine stopped working. After a few seconds of operation, the motor would shut down. The customer service was excellent, and they promptly shipped a replacement without the need to return the old one.

Your papers will be shredded, and your secrets will be destroyed as a result
4/5

You've come to the right place if you're looking for a durable and reliable paper shredder. When you put your important documents through the shredder, it provides high security. br>br>Shredders come in four levels of security. This shredder is set to Level 3, which means it will completely destroy any evidence on your documents. Level 4 security, also known as diamond cut security, is not required. All you may require is a micro cut. br>It is not overly expensive, neither too small nor too large, but just the right size. br>br>It has the ability to work with bank envelopes and credit cards at the same time. It has some difficulties, but it will complete the task with a fully packed envelope. It's also a bit noisy. The video will show you how to hear it. However, noise is nothing to be concerned about unless it is present at all times of the day and night. It's not a big deal if you do it once in a while. br>br>Strongly suggested.
