There's nothing in it that will sever your limbs. The dark color of the contents leads me to believe it contains powdered aluminum (?). Cutting through aluminum foil with scissors sharpens the blades, so I'm using that as an example for this theory.
I'm in the process of filing and scanning everything that can be saved electronically. I have a lot of shredding because my files date back several years. Once a week, I will use the lubricant pages. I estimate that I shred 500 to 600 sheets per week.
The sheet has an inner liner that sharpens the blades as it shreds, which could be aluminum foil.

I was shredding paper with an Amazon basics paper shredder when it caught fire and literally blew up. Some singed sheets of paper and minor warping in the shredder's plastic can be seen in the attached photos. I contacted Amazon, but I'm writing in case anyone else is concerned. I've had the shredder since 2016 and am very happy with it, so I don't think that was the problem. I believe the sharpening sheets were fraudulent, and I strongly advise people against purchasing them.
This isn't working. I've been using Staples shredder sheets for years, and with my normal usage, my shredder will notify me that I need to use a lubricant sheet every couple of months. I decided to order these Amazon ones out of sheer laziness because I didn't want to drive to Staples to get more (yay prime, I can order in my pjs and avoid having to interact with other humans). I put one in my shredder, reversed it for ten seconds, and started shredding. Two (2) credit card offers in the mail and a smattering of Stop My shredder stops and says it needs more lubricant while shredding store receipts (NOT CVS, mind you). Maybe it was just really dry in the first place and needed a second sheet, so I gave it one more. Continue shredding a few more old statements (I'm not sure why all businesses can't go paperless at this point), and about 7-minutes later, Shredder stops after 10 sheets and beeps for lubricant sheets. Okay, this is complete nonsense. br>br>Needless to say, I go to Staples and get their dependable sheets just to rule out the possibility that my dependable shredder of several years is on her way to the other side of the rainbow bridge. With just one Staples sheet, the old lady is mowing down political mailers like a f'n heavyweight champion! br>br>I would have given it two stars if you only need to shred a single post-it note once a year, because these are ideal. However, I deduct one (1) star because I had to put on pants and make awkward eye contact with the overly enthusiastic Staples employee.
It restores the shredder to its former glory. My micro- Recently, my cut paper shredder began to malfunction, unable to shred more than two sheets at a time and even stopping in the middle of the process. I was skeptical of these shredder sharpening and lubricant sheets at first, but I decided to give them a shot because they were less expensive than buying a new shredder. I shredded a sheet according to the instructions, then reversed the shredding for 10 seconds. I noticed the shredder start speeding up and the motor stop struggling about halfway through running it in reverse. Since then, the shredder has been as good as new. I doubted they could pull it off, but they did, and I'm impressed.
I had no idea this product existed until I had shredder problems, and I was about to buy a new one when I came across these, which are AMAZING! My shredder appears to be brand new. It's as simple as going through a sheet and finishing it. It's no surprise that they're so popular.
Simply put, they're bad, and they tend to clog up my excellent shredder, leaving dangling strips. The same thing happened when I tried several sheets. Even after vacuuming the blades and plastic blade cleaners several times, there were still dangling strips, clogged blade cleaners, and blades covered in paper. I just threw away the last six or seven sheets and placed an order for a 24-pack of sheets. a 24-pack of Staples assemble the blues- a set of colors.
This is an odd product that I had never heard of before, but after purchasing an Amazon Basics shredder, I read the instructions and discovered that the shredder needs to be lubricated in order to function properly. The shredder started making a slight noise after shredding thousands of documents, so I bought these sheets and followed the instructions, and the noise went away, and the shredder seemed to work better.
Terrible. The product is a waxy/gummy substance that clogs up gears and is not based on oil. It's time to go back to the good old days of mineral oil sheets.
My shredder had almost completely ceased to work. These are incredible. My shredder had almost completely ceased to work. I was able to get it to work for long enough to shred one clean sheet. It was fantastic, and I believe it now performs even better than when I first bought it. Keep a supply on hand and use it consistently.
