It's a little loud, but I don't mind. 5sheets were a challenge for it. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. 3 pages is a good length, and it gets the job done quickly. Recommend for basic junk mail and similar home use.

I'm debating whether or not I should return this shredder and purchase another, as it jams frequently, despite the fact that I'm only shredding a few pages of printer paper at a time (maximum is 8 pages). An additional disadvantage is that The shredding isn't exactly private. Like in that That's So Raven episode, you could probably tape the shredded document strips back together. I had high hopes for AmazonBasics because so much of their other product has been excellent. I only use this shredder once a week for a few minutes to shred documents from my home office, so I'm not sure if it'd be worth it to spend more money on a better shredder; I might just deal with the jams instead.
