Trying to stack multiple envelopes on top of each other will cause them to slide around and fall off. You can stand them up by opening the lid, as shown on this other product.
The weight isn't the only problem. You'll need to consult a US Postal Chart to figure out how much it costs. Alternatively, you could use a tool like Zensales.
Yes, there is a small bottom on the left side of the scale that, when pressed, changes from lb to kg and accurately displays oz and gr.

AND THEN: For my new Etsy store, I wanted something simple and basic. This appeared to be a good fit. The directions seemed straightforward enough. It claimed to be ready to use right out of the box, but after a few uses, I couldn't figure out why the displayed weight was so different from the weight I'd get at the Post Office, and why the weight display would fluctuate up and down and never really settle on a weight. I noticed two foam strips tucked under the lip of the lid as I was putting it together for a return. I took them out, and BINGO! The P had the same weight as the weight of the weight of the weight of the weight of I didn't jump around because I was lifting weights. br>br>Of course, these were there for shipping, but there was no mention of them in the instructions, and I had never noticed them until now. br>br>At this point, we're ready to go. Perfect for my needs, but the instructions should have mentioned that I should look for these packing strip things before using it.
This is extremely simple to use and accurate. I like that you can hold the weight so that if your box is too big to see the number, you can hold it, take it out of the box, and then see what the number was.
I had no idea I needed to get rid of the foam under-floor insulation. I was shipping with incorrect weight--the instructions said to remove any cardboard, but there is a piece of foam between the lower and upper parts of the scale that you don't notice. It's such a pain, so keep an eye out for foam!.
UPDATE: br>I had to take out the "door" that covered the scale's top. I was able to remove the pins by sliding them out. I'll be able to fit a larger box on the scale as a result of this. I'm deducting a star because of the effort involved, as well as how this will appear and last without the cover.
- br>Today, I got the package. I took the scale out of the box and inserted the supplied batteries. I was able to weigh my first item almost immediately after that. The device has a sticker on it that states that the plastic pieces under the scaletop must be removed before use. They had to go, so I took care of it. I then attempted to remove the sticker as well, as it was no longer required. However, it is difficult to remove and leaves a sticky residue on the scale's top. I'll see if I can warm it up with a hair dryer so it can be removed. Maybe some alcohol wipes will do the trick? The scale's top is protected by a door. Regrettably, it prevents larger objects from being placed on the scale's top. Why on earth would they design it in this manner? This would be a much better design if it completely lifted off or opened in the opposite direction. I'm not sure how I'll be able to measure boxes larger than 12 inches in the future. Why make a scale that can handle up to 65 pounds if you can't use it with a box that's more than 12 inches wide? Another option would be to HOLD the value of the item being weighed for about 20 seconds, so that if the larger box obscures the digital readout, you can still see what it weighs. I may remove this door entirely in the future, but that remains to be seen. It also comes with an AC adapter, which I'll use if the device proves to be a battery hog. TBD. Still a fantastic little scale, especially for the price; three stars for the time being, and I will re-purchase. In a few weeks/months, when I've had more experience with it, I'll evaluate it.
It's more of a Rose Gold color. This "gold/silver" scale has a great contemporary look to it. The "gold" is more of a rose gold, which I like, but you can tell by looking at it next to my gold frame and gold mug with paintbrushes that it isn't true gold. That could be a problem for some people, so I thought I'd bring it up. It appears to be working perfectly. Battery and power adapter are included. The only complaint I have is that the sticker on the front instructing you to remove the cardboard under the scale (which was actually foam, not cardboard) is so stuck to the scale that it took me a long time to peel it off in multiple pieces, and then I had to clean it with alcohol to remove the sticky residue. lol I just wasted 20 minutes of my life.
I used an item that the scale said was 120 grams, but when I lifted it off, it didn't show zero, so I pressed the zero button and tried again, only for it to show 98 grams this time when I lifted it off, so I pressed the zero button and weighed it again, and this time it was 140 grams. br>This is a scale that accurately weighs; if there were a zero rating, it would be well deserved.
To weigh boxes, I needed a scale that was both accurate and portable. We had to subtract the box weight from the body weight scale because we were using it. it's a pain I bought this Acteck scale and put it to use right away. Regrettably, the scale is 2 points off. 3 lbs; When I was weighing items for shipping, it three times gave me the incorrect weight; despite using on a flat surface as directed, the product did not perform as expected; Maybe it's a faulty scale from the factory. As a result, if you use the wrong weight with Fedex/UPS, you'll have issues and may be fined. Unfortunately, I'll have to return it because the scale did not work for me, and I desperately need a good accurate package scale.
If it hadn't arrived damaged, this scale would have been fantastic. It arrived in excellent condition, but there were scuffs when I opened it. I'm not sure if I received a returned item or if there was a problem with the product control.
