Questions & Answers

Is it a negative experience?

I'm not sure what you're asking, so I'll do my best to respond as accurately as possible. For several years, I used these in my classroom and absolutely loved them! It's an excellent calculator for students in grades 3 through 6. It can handle fractions, mixed numbers, division with remainders, rounding, place value, and exponents, as well as all of the other standard calculations. It was demonstrated at a NCTM math conference in Chicago, and I raved about it when I got back to school. Hundreds of them were purchased by us. The battery is good for about two years before it needs to be replaced.

Is there a case or front cover for this calculator? Thanks?

A carrying case is included with this calculator. To protect it, the case can be placed in front. If you're buying a used calculator, make sure the seller includes a case.

In general, state tests do not allow anything more advanced than a TI-83. High school courses receive a score of 92.

It broke
3/5

This calculator was required in 6th grade by my daughter. I ordered it ahead of time, and it worked fine until the center of the screen went black after less than two weeks of use. Behind the glass, it's shattered. The fine lines are visible. She lugged it around in her backpack all the way home. Nothing seemed to be able to keep up. I'm not sure what caused it to fall apart. Something designed for children should be more durable. Now I'm forced to spend more money on a replacement.

The calculator I used as a kid
5/5

This calculator has the simplest set of buttons for getting the job done. I've been using this lovely thing since I was in second grade. There are buttons for each of the ten digits. You shouldn't ask it to do exponents or logarithms because it can't do them. It'll go into cardiac arrest. Only one piece of advice from professionals: In the calculator, enter 5318008 and then rotate it.

This is a fantastic book for 7th graders
5/5

This was purchased for my son, who was in need of a backpack for school. Normally, he would get this calculator from his teacher, but he needed one because he was virtual. br>br>This is something that my son uses on a daily basis for both math and science. The simplicity of use as well as the long-term durability are both outstanding. I'd buy it again without question.

Yes! This calculator is fantastic! I got one when I was in sixth grade, and it's been my go-to calculator whenever I didn't need to do any scientific or higher-level calculations
5/5

It can even handle fractions! When I went out for a while and misplaced it, my siblings discovered it. as well as the rest of my calculators I was ecstatic to learn that they were still being produced.

Calculator that is difficult to use
3/5

I have no idea why the school requires this model of calculator; I would never buy it otherwise. The calculator works, but it is extremely unintuitive; don't buy it unless you are forced to, as I was.

Broken
3/5

As part of their school supply list requirements, I bought two calculators, one for each of my kids. When they arrived, only one of the two calculators was functional. I'm attempting to return or replace an item. It's aggravating to have a product that doesn't function properly but is required for school.

For math, 5th grade is the standard
4/5

Excellent product with a large number of features to master. Our fifth-grader was advised to buy this as the standard calculator for math class. The ability to work with and display fractions (apparently a minor part of this year's curriculum) impressed me greatly. Exponents have also been completed, but with some limitations. I only docked a star because the accompanying instruction manual was, understandably, a little too large and difficult to follow. The product, on the other hand, accomplishes a great deal. At his age, he had way more than I ever needed.
