I'm not sure what kind of plastic this is, but it's high-quality and flexible enough not to break under normal use.
Raised dots on the back of the template help lift the plastic away from the paper. Is this something that technical pens would benefit from?

I'm familiar with the Staedtler brand as an engineer who did a lot of manual drawing in college (before CAD), and I still have most of the drawing instruments I used back then. My old circle template appeared to have vanished. Naturally, I was drawn to this Staedtler piece. I was disappointed to say the least. The back of the template has these raised bumps or pimples that are supposed to keep the template raised off the paper to "prevent smudging. " They irritate me and are completely pointless. Those bumps aren't mentioned in the description, so I should have read the reviews first. Furthermore, I looked for these templates on Staedtler's website in vain, hoping to find a non-commercial alternative. There are no templates on their US or international websites, despite the fact that they have a pimple version! Amazing! Was it because they got out of the template business, or because they simply don't know how to build a proper website? Not what I expected from a company that used to be a major player in technical drawing.
The product is unusable due to poor quality; bumps lift the template far too much from the paper to be used accurately. I have an older Staedtler circle template with smaller bumps and flat contact areas (the same model number). The text is punched over by many of the bumps on the new template, making it unreadable. Flipping the template over is impractical because, in addition to the numbers being backwards, the plastic template has a matte side that blurs the text. I'm returning mine because this new template template is a disgrace to the Staedtler brand.
When he needs circles, he can quickly draw them using the circular template. Thank you very much. It arrived in a flash.
This template has made my life a lot easier. Because the material is thin and malleable, it will not shatter. There are no bumps or barbs on the circle cuts, and they are quite smooth. I have one from another brand that has a tiny bump inside nearly every circle, making drawing a smooth circle impossible. And I'm glad the seller took extra precautions by enclosing it in a cardboard envelope.
" I'm not a fan of the bumps, which appear to be more of a band-aid than a solution. I would have bought a different brand if I had known these were being added.
Other than yes, what else can you say? This circle template is ideal for drawing circles in a consistent and neat manner. Yes, you guessed correctly. circles. That's exactly what it's for.
The edges are always smooth, and the brand is trustworthy. It arrived in good condition and on time.
It was purchased to be used in the production of cigars. Buying a ring gauge is a lot more expensive. It's in 64ths of an inch and has every cigar I've ever seen rolled in it. I'm really excited about it.
