The template is clearly labeled with the axes needed to properly orient the "circles" in any isometric plane, making it quick and simple to learn. I only wish there was a smaller version that would fit in the back cover flap of my 5x7 Bullet Journal notebook. In terms of a job, I cut this one in half down the middle and it still works fine, albeit not as smoothly as the full version. The template is flexible and unbreakable, with stand-off bumps on the paper's side to prevent smearing. The material also allowed me to cut the template with scissors to fit it into my notebook, which was a plus.
This ellipse template appeals to me because the major and minor axes are more clearly defined and precisely placed than in other, less expensive templates. These are superior to the green ones from Westcott if you require accuracy in the minor axis. The only complaint I have is that I wish the maximum was two inches. That, as well as all the other small sizes, are not covered by any template. I have all of the ellipses I use most often with this and the Combo Ellipse Template.
Great - Assists in the process of learning. When it comes to urban sketching, practice makes perfect. Muscle memory will be developed!.
It can be used for almost anything.
This stencil is a fantastic drawing aid, and I highly recommend it.
There are many different sizes and angles to choose from.
It's the only template I use now because it has most of the ellipses I need. It's saved me a lot of time.
