My SAR kit will be so much more complete with this addition
5/5

As a member of a search and rescue team, I began learning to navigate and plot In accordance with our liaison with the National Guard, our class was recommended to acquire a protractor and It has the flexibility that I wanted, and it is also of high quality, so I won't need to babysit my bag / box of stuff whenever I am using it. Nevertheless, the scales seem to be pretty accurate and do not go outside of the tolerances I set The degree markings on the protractors are flush with the outer ring, something I was told to be careful about when comparing other protractors, because people were using scissors to cut off excess to increase their capability.

As a protractor, he does an excellent job
4/5

It is perfectly fine for those who do not trust GPS totally, or just keep a topo map as a backup. If you aren't totally sure about GPS, this tool is still ideal. Topo maps made today use multiple squares for 99% of the time.

I will share with you one of the tricks that I learned many years ago from some British friends. You can put a piece of string through the protractor's center hole. The end of the string should be tied in a knot. As you read the map, make sure that you are holding the protractor on the side that faces you. You pull the string taunt when you have located your location, and you have figured out the azimuth of where you want to go, and you place it on your desired Just glance at the protractor to see where the string is located and you'll know your desired degree. It helps to use bright string (I have some neon pink), but you can use pretty much anything. Despite the knot being only on one end, you will be able to remove the string at any time. In the end, I gave it a 4. 5 star rating because I like the square protractors better, but I think this is just I think the round model does have some advantages over the square one, and it still has some benefits to offer. They will both do the trick, and you will be glad you have one when you need.

The azimuths can also be found very easily
4/5

When used for land navigation, it performs as expected, and it is even easier to mark points because the center of the vertical line is open along the entire length of each distance ruler in a By tying an inner strand of paracord to the center hole, the hole can also be easily used to find azimuths, resections, and intersections. My only criticism is that it is slightly less accurate with the previously described rectangular cutouts, as it is necessary to estimate where the center is. A second issue is that it has a weird tacky surface that seems to attract dirt and dust like crazy, which makes it difficult to read a map, especially in low light. The software is easy to use despite its shortcomings, and the price was well worth it.

It looks exactly like the picture
5/5

The item was as described, and it arrived within the expected time frame. In addition to the practice map, a personal note, instructions, and the protractor exactly as described, it also contained a personal note. The fact that the degrees are on the outside of the protractor was a huge plus for me because I don't usually use mils. It's beautiful! I just love You should definitely check it out!.

I found the experience to be very unusual
5/5

The product arrived fast and it's very well designed. The instructions on how to use it are very nice, too. I ordered this and received it in such a short time period. The slot is simply a long vertical cut-out with scales on BELOW as well as ABOVE the slot, which allows you to align a target destination exactly inside the slot for the In addition, I strongly recommend using a protractor with As most topographical maps will be in this format, most will be 24000 scale. Furthermore, the protractor does not disappear when placed on a map because it has a white area around the outer edge.

This protractor tool is very useful
5/5

purchased it since I was looking for a 360 degree protractor that was compact and made of flexible material to avoid snapping or breaking. It works beautifully and the scale tools make it easy to measure off of plans or schematics. The navigation aspect of this tool is something I am unable to discuss.

This is a fantastic addition to navigation When hiking, make sure it is on
5/5

A few days before we went on a recent trip, we added this to our map bag almost by accident. In the end, it proved to be a very useful tool. Since it has a small, lightweight design, it adds virtually no weight, yet it is a great way to locate specific bearings. It is a bit misleading (during my research, I almost did not buy) because the picture shows the protractor with a generic map attached to With the exception of the markings, it was very clear to me. It's not a cheap product, but it's worth the price.

I found it to be very simple to read and use
5/5

In the past, I have been using a pocket slot tool, but since my eyesight is not as good as it once was, I got this one. It is easy to read the numbers because they are big and A declination chart was included as well, which I found really cool.
