My pleasure! Thank you for asking! There is a wonderful topographic map store located in the USGS Map Store, where you can find this area's topographic maps. It is likely that you will also find MapTools A number of great tutorials can be found there.
About 0 is the size of the tool. Thinner than a sheet of paper. Not brittle, but stiff and flexible, this material is made up of fibers. A credit card is similar in thickness and flexibility to this material.
Regardless of the tool you decide to use, UTM/MGRS plots are all measured in metric units since that's the way There is a wide range of map rulers that measure in miles available from MapTools for many different map scales.

I've used this tool for many years. It has a few improvements over other similar tools. A crystal clear plastic covers the plastic. A good sturdy feeling is delivered by the thickness and flexibility of the material. In addition to enhancing the durability, the triangle has been removed and replaced with a slot. There is no fading of the markings on it. There does not appear to be any problem with the calibration of the device for various map sizes. There was a hole in the center of the cross hair right in the center of the punch. In order to ease the measurement process, I added a string. It seems as if the white background on the angle markers is opaque from the description. the glass is only frosted and can be seen through easily.
It's a simple tool, but it does what it's supposed to do I made it. Consequently, I cut off the outer ring of the mils markings, because I had no use for them. In my civilian role as a civil servant I am now The 24,000 scale maps (hunting) are included in the slot at the bottom I wish it weren't upside-down, but it is nice that it is there at all In any case.
Marines You can see through it. This is flexible. It is accurate. I would consider this chewy, but I would not eat it. Give it to LT and don't give it to the government. Please read

I'm not a big fan of leaving reviews, but I get all my needs satisfied by John at Maptools. This is a pretty sick site. The compass itself should be the first thing I look at. There is a sense of durability. As you can see, there are definite improvements over the standard issue one marines get (we need to The only gripe I have (and it is not a huge one) is when editing There's no point in arguing about 24 scale being upside down when I understand the rationale, but it's just scraping the surface. My favorite thing about getting the package was that it came with a declination reference card. I found a note explaining he had written a program (which I assume he wrote) that took my zipcode, located the offsets, and printed a reference card. What a wild ride this is, guys! You can even see pictures for all of us out there who love eating crayons off the window. You're the best, John! I really appreciate it!.
The protractor I tested out for Officer Candidate School (Army) this weekend was very accurate. In the end, I found a tool that was both accurate and well built. Having seen them many times, I compared it to a ranger joe's one and found it better due to The easiest way to determine the north/south coordinate is to line up the east and west coordinates and make an accurate "tic" for them. **2)I love how you can thread a strand through the gut of a paracord and use it to spit out your degrees quick It's better to have a straight line on the map than to "hope" you lined up correctly. I plan to bring two protractors with me when I go down (certain items are worth having backups of). The only con is that the protractor is not as thick as ranger Joe's, but otherwise it appears to be fine. From the three protractors I tested, I found this one to be the best. If you go with a ranger joe's or this one - it will work great. You'll be able to plot points with both of them.
There is a little tool I use often that I am ridiculed for. During the battle of the Titanic, there was a gunner who tossed a fancy hyperspace protractor away. It never seems to work, despite my efforts. I keep giving it to my guys to use, but they refuse to use it. On the positive side, it is a heavy and durable product, a little larger than a standard protractor, but it fits in my Rite In the Rain notebook cover of medium size. I prefer the markings to the regular ones because they are easy to use. The downside is that it takes a little learning to use, but that is also part of its charm since it prevents others from using it and not There is also some rub/scratch on the white contrast material around the edge under the mil and degree scales.
The gear is of good quality. It is a better design than the version issued to the military. A string can be tied to the hole in the center and there are other neat little features on it. The book was delivered on time, and it came with a packet of literature that is likely to be very informative for 2nd Lieutenants and others who are This area of the website was customized based on the recipient's shipping address to provide the true north, grid north, magnetic north, and other helpful information for my region. It's a great product with great service. I am very pleased.
As someone who has been doing land navigation for over a decade, and has used military protractors for many years, this is by far the best one I've ever used. I also like the fact that it can be used With its 24,000 standardUSGS UTM civil maps, it is a great deal. All the extras provided by the seller It's all so well-done, from the guides, worksheets to the personalized magnetic declination card printed on write in the rain paper. It would have been nice if we had training aids like this back when I was in the military.
I just expected the tool to work which it did. The company also managed to provide me with the magnetic declination specific to my location and a couple of additional resources for reference and map reading practice. I could have been satisfied with the tool itself, but they went the extra mile for me, which speaks volumes about them and their products. It is a top tier, top quality product. This book is highly recommended!.
I think the quality of this is a lot better than the government issue, and the extras help you understand how to use it and navigate I really like this new version of the app, and it makes measuring distance much easier than the old one. The new ones are flexible and therefore can be easily stored in a pack, unlike the previous ones, which were brittle and prone to cracking. I highly recommend it!.
