To mark the locations of where things needed to be placed, I placed these dots on a carpet.

According to the angle of the table, the distance will vary. At a shallow angle, they are pretty good. You can leave them on for a day and they will last.
Yes, I agree. It is easy to remove them.

During my childhood, I learned how to draft on a drafting table using cotton vellum paper, a triangle, a Tee square,
Our paper was secured to the angled drafting boards with drafting tape, which is a very thin masking tape that doesn't leave any sticky residue behind. Using this technique, you get protection for your drawing paper, and it also allows the Tee Square and triangles to have free movement over the edges. Nevertheless, as my career progressed from Junior High Industrial Arts Drafting, through High School Mechanical Drawing, and then into engineering school graphics, before going into civil engineering, I found it much more convenient to pull out dots from a tape wheel than tearing off strips from drafting tape rolls. It is also the perfect size for the tape rounds. One for each corner of the drawing for up to 24"x30" paper and six dots for larger sections. I remember when my dad was a kid, they stuck push pins into the paper, which left marks, leaving holes, and tears that could ruin a drawing taken weeks to finish. Nevertheless, drafting tape, in conjunction with these rounds, made it possible to secure your drawings to the board without damaging them or leaving residue behind. These dots work great for drawing and temporarily securing paper goods to a solid surface! I highly recommend them for all drawings and temporary support of paper goods.
There is no way that these dots can be removed. I used them as a student of interior design until I noticed they were pulling all the corners off my tracing paper and even the top few layers of my vellum, causing a fuzzy No matter how carefully I tried to take them off, they wouldn't come off. It is too strong to be used I would say it's like masking tape more than anything else. Pro-brand is the way to go, not these Drafting tape for arts and crafts. This is just the right amount of sticky and not too sticky.
We should have bought a roll of tape instead of the dots since they appeared to be a good idea. We were not able to make the dots pop up for easy removal and use when the box was expected to do so. This type of pop up label gives me a lot of trouble so I don't think it was By pushing extremely hard where the thumb print is visible on the box, I was able to make the device work. However, I had to effectively crush the box in order to make it function. On the drafting board, the tape stuck well, but on the vellum it was hard to stay. There could have been some old tape on it. As I won't use the dots again in the foreseeable future, I won't bother to return them since I won't require them for years to come and I will probably have to buy new like this time. I won't think about them.
A removable dot that could be marked was what I was seeking. The dots are mostly removable (they're quite sticky), but they have the ALVIN logo on each one It is really not a good idea to mark them Clearly visible in the product picture but not in the description You might consider it a good deal for the price if this doesn't bother you. * Does it hold the I think so. The drafting dot, however, has been limited in its use by ALVIN to this one function.
In most cases I use these when I am drawing or tracing a new pattern, or when tracing an old, worn-out pattern. During tracing, the pattern is held firmly in place so that it does not slide around. In addition to these, I also attach the tracing paper overlay. If you happen to accidentally peel the dot off the paper after using it, be sure to be careful. Please let me know how I can help Make sure you throw the dots several times before you throw During my time as an office manager at a Civil Engineering company I discovered these types of tools. engineers and/or draft crew would use only ALVIN for drawing.
Online, I saw a video demonstrating how to do it. A thumb is even drawn on the box so that the user knows exactly where to place it. Hold the drawing in your palm and press your thumb into it. Simply pull the tape to complete the project! There is a separate dot from the backing when the dot pops up. I have been pleased with the dots in addition to the clever dispenser box. I can get them up and pull them up cleanly when I'm done wearing them.
Having used drafting dots for years, I have always loved them. They have been my go-to tool for drafting stories and sketches for 25+ years. Would be nice if they were less expensive. The dots are more durable and less likely to peel off than individual pieces of drafting tape. Graphite tailings and erasure ash are attracted and attracted to the top. These days, I work with CAD for 95% of my jobs, so a box of dots can last for quite.
When I work with that paper, the release is quick and easy, not the way I found it 10 years ago when I used it for sketching and charcoal. I will never buy that paper.
