Using my set with the basic letters set helped me learn the letters. It really could be useful with a small group if you have that as well.

If it were up to me, I would expect to receive a real box and one that could be sent as a gift. It was packed in basic non-toxic packaging when it came out of its Amazon envelope This plastic bag is quite descriptive! It hasn't been my pleasure to see the kid interact with them yet, but aside from that, they're pretty great! I also had a 1 because the set did not include a storage container or bag. They fit perfectly in a 9L disposable Tupperware container I have on hand. A kindergartener of 5 years old, she's using 1st grade workbooks and is assigned 10 spelling words a week. On Fridays she's tested on her skills. The reason I say this is because I was able to find suffixes for ALL of her words from the week prior and current. So that gave me great pleasure, and confirmed that I will likely be receiving a comprehensive and rich set, and that it will grow with her as I had In conclusion, if the product had been packaged more presentably and had included some way to store it, I would have given it a higher rating. However, I'm not sure how malleable they will be for her little hands to maneuver, neither do I know whether or not it will hold her attention, but it seems to work for me!.
Otherwise, a good product. Good blocks, but I had trouble pulling them apart the first time. It shouldn't be a problem as long as you have a man in the house.
It got easier as time went on but was still quite difficult to fully unravel. A great classroom tool, other than that.
For my son who typically struggles with reading, this has been a fun addition to his homeschooling. This allows you to decode and separate syllables with ease.
In the classroom, however, it's a TERRIFIC tool. It is a pleasure to be an ESE inclusion teacher and my 5th graders really enjoy them. I found it extremely hard to separate the blocks from each other, but I figured I would bend them as if I was trying to snap or break them in half, so I bent them and they popped out, and now I can easily separate them.
It is much more fun to learn with manipulatives rather than on.
