To begin, I'd like to state that I bought two of these during Prime Day. Solid plywood construction and a straightforward design drew me in. br>I'm a carpenter and a fine woodworker, but this deal was too good to pass up. br>br>Unfortunately, despite being well packed, both units I received had quality control issues when they left the factory. Poor alignment, incorrectly packaged parts, and parts that are badly warped. It was so bad that I could only put together one of the two units I received. br>br>Called the manufacturer directly, explained the problem, and asked if replacement parts could be sent. They said they couldn't send me any parts because it wasn't their problem! Wow. Once Amazon customer service was involved, they were able to save the day. The third unit arrived from Amazon. br>br>Unfortunately, unit 3 had problems as well, but I was eventually able to put the two units together using all of the components. These are manufactured goods. br>br> In China, it's clear that whoever ECR4 Kids entrusts with quality control isn't up to the task. br>It's not a coincidence that three out of three units have quality issues. br>Moreover, the company does not stand behind their products and does not appear to care if the end user is satisfied. br>br>Thanks to Amazon's excellent customer service, we were able to save the day. br>However, this is a product I would not buy again.
These are some fantastic shelves. They are used in a Montessori classroom that I run at home. It's great for keeping track of things and presenting them.
Buyer beware: the instructions are inadequate, and the laminate used to construct this 5-section, 30-inch-high shelf is prone to splitting. br>I understand that I usually don't have time to write reviews, but this one is particularly important. br>As a nurse, I am technically and scientifically inclined, but I do not have the mind of an engineer. These assembly instructions, on the other hand, leave a lot to be desired. They may instruct you to install the camlocks before inserting the posts at one point. They completely ignore it in another. It isn't a significant issue. It's not difficult to figure out. The more irritating habit in these instructions is that one step will have the unit lying on its back, while the next step will have it lying on its front, with no mention of flipping it. You only need to pay attention to the grooves that the back panels slide into to get your pieces right; otherwise, you might end up with the wrong panel on the side. br>br>Another reason this shelf deserves a review is that the laminate was split at the screw hole when it arrived, as shown in the photo. When I paid $163 for this, I didn't expect to need wood glue and a clamp before I could use it. The rest of the shelf appears to be in good condition, and I'm hoping it will outlast some of the shelves for kids.
I ordered two of these Storage Cabinets, and they were both damaged and broken when they arrived. I've included some photos, but the pieces were in worse shape. br>br>When I contacted ECR4Kids, they responded with the following: br>I appreciate your reply. We completely understand your frustration with this issue and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. We'd like to set the stage for why you'll need to reach out to Amazon for help with this problem. br>br>Unfortunately, we will not be able to send the individual parts you require separately from the entire unit. br>As it appears that the damage is caused by freight. Because the item was shipped from Amazon's warehouse via their carrier, Amazon would be responsible for providing a resolution. In situations like this, Amazon has requested that ECR refer their customers to Amazon's customer service team for assistance. br>br>Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and we appreciate your feedback as we work to improve customer experience on a daily basis.
I assumed this shelf would be the same size as the first, just one shelf taller, based on the photos, but that was not the case. It's still adequate for my requirements, but the shelves on this one are shorter than those on my previous one. Assembly: br>br>Instructions: br>br>Instructions: br>br>Instructions It was relatively simple to put together. I was able to complete it in under an hour, with two rebuilds due to incorrect assembly of pieces. The parts were all clearly labeled, but the instructions left much to the imagination. Without the context of the entire shelf, it was difficult to determine which side was "up" on the shelves. It would have been challenging to put together for a first-timer. All of the pilot holes and screws were a perfect match. Some parts required a Philip's head screwdriver, but the majority could be completed with the included hex wrench. It was relatively simple to obtain a super-powerful computer. Everything is a close fit. br>br>The shelf is very sturdy, and I (and the custodians!) are very pleased with it. ) appreciate the fact that it is mobile and on wheels. It'll definitely hold a lot of books, games, and blocks, and it's exactly what I needed in a new shelving unit.
