Questions & Answers

Are there any marks on the fabric left by this process? When I use Fray check, it leaves a mark that resembles a watermark. ?

In fact, it is more like Elmer's glue in consistency and is less likely to wick through to the surface of your fabric when applied to the back of your project while the stabilizer is still in place. As far as drying time is concerned, it's a bit longer than Fray Check, but nevertheless remains tacky for quite a while.

Since I'm making my first applique and have already fused my fabrics without basting, will this be clear and strong enough to go along the outer edge of the ?

Please visit http//tips-global.com/ Resources for sewing A few tips Tricks and how-to In the application- This website is a big help to me on how to do a lot of sewing techniques, and they also have some great projects on it. My only reason for returning the Aleen's Fray Stop was that it was pasty white, thick, and left a white residue on the cotton fabric that I used it on, plus the fabric became very stiff. Since I switched back to Dritz Fray Check, which you can buy at sewing stores and on Amazon, I have stopped using other fray checks. My experience with this product has been that it dries clear on most fabrics I have used it on and the fabric has a normal texture after You should put a piece of cardboard under your fabric when you apply the Fray Check, as this will prevent it from bleeding through the fabric and leaving a film on whatever surface it is While I am not certain you would need a fray check product if you have already ironed a fusible interfacing like Wonder Under or Press & Seal, it would be a waste of money otherwise. I believe the interfacing should stop the fabric from fraying if you steam your appliqué and the project you are working on. It would probably be best to put on Fray Check before washing the interfacing, since I am not sure how well it will hold up after washing. It is not my habit to appliqué items which will be washed a lot, mainly pillows tops which don't get washed much, and I satin stitched around the appliqués, so I hope that they don't fray. It might be of use to you.

This product is terrible it will not dry clear! There are many reasons I am extremely disappointed in this product
3/5

I bought it in May, thinking I would need it earlier and my Fray Check was just about to expire. It was just now that I used it for the first time, on July 12, 2020 (unfortunately my return window ended on I TRY TO DRY CLEAR, BUT I CAN'T! I used it in several places, as you can see. Since I am unable to finish the embroidery project I was working on, I will need to redo it completely. It was a waste of money and supplies to remedy this situation I'm out the cost of this pointless product. Please do not purchase this.

I hate it! What is going on here is horrible! It was sticky and thick
3/5

There is not much control over the way it comes out of the bottle! You need to push the blob around to get it where you want it, then wipe off all the waste. It sinks into the fabric, but rather remains thick and shiny on whatever it is applied to. On top of that, your fabric cannot be used right away During the drying process, it takes hours. Aww, just aww. If you want the same results, you might as well use Elmer's glue on the edges of your fabric for half the price.

I'm glad you like it! A scarf sat on the table - I had a fringed sweater that I had to cut off or discard because it was unraveled to the point that I would have to cut off Using a little container of glue, I dipped each end into the glue and hung the sweater over the edge of a table
5/5

I was able to speed up the process by hanging it over the edge of the table and dabbing it on. In no time at all, the sweater had gotten a new look.

It's a great product
5/5

I've been using it for so long and There are so many things you can use it for. You won't be able to wash it off of your acrylic nails or fingers! Please take the time to put on a disposable glove prior to using. It's a really great tool that I use all the time. Say your favorite little sundress got a nail in it. Add a drop of fray check to the area and allow it to dry before stitching it back together. The repair will look much nicer when it's finished, and the finish will stay the same even after washing Keeping this in your sewing kit or even your laundry room will be a great investment. My favorite thing about this formula is that it dries quickly, quicker than any of the other brands I've.

I am not a fan of this thickness
3/5

This glue reminds me of an Fabric doesn't absorb the fragrance, which is a crucial factor. I find it to be far too Fabric becomes shiny after being brushed with the solvent. This is terrible. This product has so many good reviews that I am not able to figure out what the problem is. Although it is useful as a glue, it is not an appropriate tool for its intended usage. If you thin it with about 60/40 fray stop/water, it will work pretty well. I have tried many fray check products in the past, and this is by far the worst.

The Aleene's Stop-it Cream is always handy to keep on hand
5/5

I am on my second bottle of this product As a result of using it for many years, it has become frayed. People who sew are not the only ones who can use this. They really come in handy when it comes to mending all sorts of frayed textiles. You can use a trace ranging from the smallest size to a large bead, and it will perform the task without being noticed. The material goes on white, dries clear, and does not have an overly glossy or matte In addition, the repair is permanently strong and wears as intended, even after it has been laundered. The solvents do not emit fumes, stain, or leave solvent marks on surfaces. One of the most recent issues I encountered was with a corner of a deeply loved Asian area rug that had a very small fraying right on the tip. It looks like it just came out of the box!.

Used for reconditioning raincoats into terrific condition using this outstanding product
5/5

In order to repair taped seams on a nylon raincoat, I used Aleene's Stop Fraying. In the seam tape, parts of the adhesive had become loose over the years. I removed all the tape from all seams, regardless of whether it was loose or not, and applied Aleene's Stop-Wax. By applying a lot of pressure to the inside and outside of all seams, you will get the product into the threaded stitches at the seams. I used a cheap paint brush almost like a kids' brush to make the application neat and had 1/4" of overlap on each side. The waterproofing revival spray type was also sprayed over the breathable raincoat when the project was completed. By holding tightly to the nylon, Aleene's product will serve the dual purpose of preventing fraying of the nylon edges that extend past the stitching, in addition to preventing leakage of water from the stitching Now that I have this product, I can be confident that my raincoat will work like new again, and will keep me dry in a downpour. The amount that could be brushed on at once took quite some time for application area by area with drying intervals in between for the amount that could be applied at once with the If you are up against Mother Nature, it is well worth the effort!.

I am waiting to see if it will help
3/5

The product I used to stop cloth from fraying worked for me. My car interior stitches were in the need of repairing, so I was hoping it would work in there. All of the Velcro is frayed because it got stuck on some stitching. It didn't seem to make much difference when I applied this. A second application will be made and I will see what happens.
