Questions & Answers

What is the difference between these plugs and genuine Switchcraft ones?

I have been told these are not genuine Switchcraft parts following direct contact with Switchcraft (with photos). Switchcraft 280 connectors do not ship with bent strain reliefs, and they also have an unnecessary solder lug punched out of the way. It is not designed to be bent more than once and risks breakage when it is bent a second time Firstly, open it, then re-open it It is bendable. The photos for my review are in the one published on 08/08/2021.

Could you please tell me what type of wire these plugs will ?

In order to solder into it, it has a large hole. In this case, I used wire of gauge #14

How does the plastic terminal insulator work on the plugs?

Despite my best efforts to respond as soon as possible, I am a few days late. You will receive a clear plastic insulating sleeve with the kit. The insulator is visible when the outer jacket is unscrewed, where it is installed over the terminals. Here is a translation that may be helpful.

What do you think of the center? Is it positive?

In order to plug a 2 pole/ mono cable, follow these tips. It could be hot or it could be positive. *Sleeve The ground or negative is in a pretty clear view. I am not sure what you mean by the center, but if it is the tip, then it is a positive (hot) thing.

I was able to repair my Rocksmith cable
5/5

The cable to Rocksmith is broken due to me dropping my guitar. My mind went to fixing the old one after ordering another, so I decided to make another. It took me a while to get the hang of soldering, but YouTube stepped me through it. The entire process took me 5 minutes After removing the old cable, attaching the new plug to the wires, soldering the wires to the plug, and putting everything in its place, it will take you approximately ten minutes. I now have a better cable than when I bought it! A solder paste that comes in a syringe and contains both solder and flux was delivered to me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!.

You will not be disappointed The industry standard for live, pro, studio, and broadcast
5/5

I bought some other cheaper connectors to fix some throwaway guitar cords - still don't understand why they're more expensive! In addition, let's compare these connectors with the newest ones from Switchraft. Since I had been using Switchcraft for years, I have discovered what makes it so special for me. They are simply more durable and built for long-term use, especially for live shows, SAT trucks, electronic field production, etc. I have dozens that are over 10 years old. Old but still works just as well as when it was brand Most cheaper ones reduce metal gauge, especially on the shield and interior shield connector arm, resulting in a weaker shield. A spherical connection or the connections spin around an axis This, however, is not the case. SWITCHCRAFT are the standard because that's what they are.

There is no better way to describe this Those connectors are indeed genuine parts for Switchcraft 280, I just wanted to make sure of that
5/5

Several of them came individually bagged, with and without hooktags from RapcoHorizon (an established supplier 2) I believe Amazon is getting these parts directly from Rapco, so no worries there. These 1/4" TS plugs have a solid feel, are easy to work with, and have a great build quality - in addition to a great price.

The items they are selling are used, not brand But mine are used, I don't know if they're good quality
3/5

One of them has an missing plastic insert, as seen in the Also, there are crimp tabs that appear to be scratched and bent, as if they were previously crimped and then You can get them for 2 bucks and I will still use them, but if you are looking for brand new do not purchase them.

This is a very high quality product
5/5

Compared to the cheap versions, this one is so much better. When you solder it, there is no looseness or melting, and there is no electrical fault. There was no failure with other parts like I had with others. My future searches for Switchcraft will always be for Switchcraft.

I sent you parts that were used! Not everyone thinks you are stupid or something like that
3/5

Let me tell you how I recently obtained two of these jacks. When I opened their jackets, one had missing plastic shield and one had fresh solder on it while the other had used solder. My honest opinion here is Buyer Beware, I am so pissed off I threw the damn things into the garage as it was more trouble then it was worth. I do believe this is a decent seller, so my advice is to proceed with caution.

There are cheaper plastic phone plugs locally, but I can't seem to find any which are of the same quality
5/5

For an RF environment, metal was needed. I was impressed with the quality of the product and its quick delivery. The seller followed up to make sure the customer was satisfied. I'm pleased with my purchase.
