Questions & Answers

Do these threads make up 10/32?

To go with the Gator rack screws, there is a pair of screws.

Would it be possible to cut down the 12u mounts into (3) 4u pieces without running into any difficulties?

Using the same hole distance on all 3 pieces will work as long as the hole distance is the same on all 3. Rather than eat the ends, I cut them off and tuck them into my shelving unit.

The rails need to be mounted on an enclosure and the gear to the rails need to be mounted on the rails. What type of screws are needed for both? Do cage nuts need to be used as well?

Thanks for reaching out. Cage nuts are not necessary. Rack rail screws can be used with these rails because they have a standard thread. Tenths of an inch by seventy-fourths of an inch. Screws that work with these are actually available from us. Using the search box above, you can look for them by using this unique Amazon identifier. For mounting the rack rails, you will need screws to mount them, so you will need to go to your local hardware store or an online retailer that sells them. Please feel free to contact us directly with any other questions you may have. Thanks a lot!

Is the thread size of the rack unit placement holes the same as that of the mounting ?

I would like to inform you that we follow the rack unit standard 10 All of our rack rails have a 32 thread size. We are happy to assist you via email at [email protected] if you have any other questions. Please visit www.com. Thanks a lot!

The product is well-made and very A small rack to hold the Focusrite was required
5/5

It worked out very well for me. My only wish is that the mounting screws were included, but at that rate I suppose the price would have gone up.

I would absolutely recommend this product
5/5

It's great to have these things. At work I use standard AV racks and I needed something simple for some of my equipment at home. The price was super competitive and the quality was worried about, but once I put it to use, I was not disappointed, and I will definitely keep these in mind in the future. In my opinion, if you are thinking of buying these, you should make sure the bottom is sturdy. rack mounted on my desktop with a 2U shelf that has an Xbox on the bottom of it, and that appears to be strong enough to support the rest of my gear. It should be possible to solve the problem with a UPS or amplifier. Rubber covers for the base would prevent it from scratching whatever it sits on, but that's the only thing I can think of to add. I'll try to remember to add a picture to this review if my receiver ever shows up and I have a chance to enjoy the rack fully.

Errant Gear Easy DIY Project to fix it
5/5

The 1 I had was cut into 2 pieces The sliding technology on my bookshelf in front of my microphone was mounted on a unit rack. In my case, the rack was around my right shoulder. Here's a picture of a Dbx channel strip and a Furman power strip if I had one.

Found a fix. Since they are combined in weight (as well as having rubber feet on the base of the bottom device), they do not slide. In addition to the leftover two inches of the upper stem, the cables and wires are kept out of my way with the leftover two inches.

This is my first time building custom racks
4/5

Having just begun using racks, I have no idea what they are. As soon as I got an amp, I decided to build a box to protect the amp and get it off the ground. As an air flow measure, I bought the 4U because I thought I could leave one slot above and one below on the top. In the case of the amp, it took up two slots, but the spacing only allowed for the top to or the bottom to. It would be nice to have the 6u slow the two spaces above and below, if I did this again. Ultimately, even if I have to add another rack item that takes up two spaces, it will still be worthwhile. As part of my custom built box, I also purchased bolts and rubber feet.

There is a problem with the threading of the screw hole
3/5

Almost half of the screws would either require a large amount of torque to drive in, or would jam and strip as soon as they were in place. It indicates the rack rails must have quality control issues. My theory is that the screws caused the problem, but the other half of the holes seemed to take screws easily or with a moderate amount of There is also the issue that they don't seem to be angled quite 90 degrees, which leads to the screws going in slightly off-axis.

Gator is a reputable company, so it is a trusted and high quality product
5/5

It feels like they will last for a long time. The unit space numbers appear following the numbered lines on the paint. It does not have any sharp edges. This is a real Gator product. I installed the rails in a 4U cabinet I made myself, leaving seven inches in between the top and bottom of the cabinet. My rails fit just like a glove when I put them on! When I first thought of buying it, I was going to buy it from the local music retailer, but the Amazon vendor has a very competitive price, so I decided to save fuel and time by ordering it online. This product is exactly what I was looking for!.

For those with a tight budget, this rack works well
4/5

You may want to buy this rack if you're on a budget, but I'm a nitpicker so I knocked off one star for the bend not being 90o. The springback that takes place during bending may have gone unaccounted for. There's not enough to negatively affect functioning, so I switched to vertical cage nut rails (this one is a bit more expensive).
