Windows based software is not part of the package, but does come with a link/code. Since I use Audacity on a Linux system, I cannot comment on the software in general.
It is not possible to connect a RCA output to the R8. If your CD recorder has RCA inputs, it would be wise to connect a RCA cable. A 1/4 stereo cable connects the CD recorder to the headphone output on the R8.
Then, you could burn a friend using an external app once you have created a master stereo file

It was my desire to record without a computer that led me to buy the R8. During the early days of recording with a cassette deck, I did so out of amusement. Evidently, we are dealing with a world that goes beyond A computer is distracting to me and can impede my creative process. In my opinion, the R8 is perfect for what I need. I was amazed at the sound quality. A lot of great effects come with the onboard software. Moreover, the headphones that came with the set were also excellent. The only time I didn't wish to use the headphones is when I had a set of logitech computer speakers ($20). Having said that, I would expect that a set of monitor speakers would be more impressive. This unit has the ability to play along with drum tracks, which is something I really appreciate. Overall, this has made a huge difference in my playing. The R8 sold me within minutes. Prior to purchasing it, I thought the price was a bit high, but as soon as I started playing through it I changed my tune. Amateur recording enthusiasts are in for an amazing product with the R8. You can either use the included batteries or USB charger to power the device. Despite its low power consumption, it is a very light, portable device.
Zoom R8 is one of the best cameras I've owned. Multitrack recorders haven't been part of my work life for a long time. The previous one I owned was a Yamaha 4-wheeler A track minidisc recorder from the late 1990s. Zoom R8 is much smaller and is built well to integrate with my computer so I can pull files from it. It is convenient to be able to export to other programs. For backups and other purposes, you should use wav files. I have a relatively small system in comparison to my old one. A portion of the space savings is due to the removal of many of the old knobs (e. The controls (for example, L/R fader) are in software, rather than physical knobs. Similarly, the graphic equalizer provides the same results. Although I miss the physical knobs, the space savings far outweigh the lack of physical knobs. A little bit of playing with effects has also helped me turn my guitar into a bass tone. In terms of build quality, it is a good product for the price.
I've been playing with this for a few days and it seems like a great product, and it sounds really good right now. I don't really use the drum beats at all, so I can live without them. Product and seller were excellent. Items were shipped quickly and arrived on time. I would recommend them.
