Questions & Answers

Is there phantom power of 48 volts?

My thanks go out to you for asking this Yes, I would say that! This is how it is written We do have Phantom Power on hand for the 8 as well. The author is Rick Sound Universal Pro

Do you think this would work for recording music with a group?

Thank you for your question. I will be in touch shortly. Yes, I would say that! This is how it is written I would recommend recording with the 8 as it is a great choice for music groups. Give it a try! I wish you the best of luck, Ric G,

Is there a sound card interface on this unit so that it can be used with a computer?

In response to our question, Zoom Mfg's rep stated An audio interface of this type can be used for a variety of purposes Full episodes can be recorded directly to your computer and to an SD card at the same time using Windows 8. It is also possible to live stream and record simultaneously.

Is it possible to listen to the playback of one track and record ?

I say yes! The L-610 has a function called Overdub that can be used for this You need to enable 8 for it to work.

Buying a home with buyers remorse The Livetrak Line There are so many pointless flaws in this brilliant little machine that Zoom is able to fix easily
3/5

The item I bought was good I like After watching the comparison video on YouTube, I decided to purchase the book. It is difficult for you to even comprehend the multitudes of problems with this - is not enough for this category, you need to see what the other mixers have to offer. It is true that this mixer has some great features, but if you plan to spend hundreds of dollars, make sure that you check out what other mixers offer Almost everything that is necessary in a L-unit is found in a Pyle unit This 8 has $250 less than this 8. I know it's Pyle, but I still don't get it. The brand I was given didn't work for me, so I'm sharing others that did. It ended up being the Rodecaster Pro for me. Several hundred more than the Rodecaster, but you can watch a comparison on YouTube between both models Cord management (plugging in the back to the top) is no reason to choose another option (just because of this). L-) The best aspect of this particular L-group Each channel has a customizable EQ, which is called 8. On the Rode, there is no EQ. It was that last signal on the left that tipped me off to the situation If you have an 8 channel radio, you can only turn phantom power on (for all channels) or off (for Phantom power is provided per channel by the Rode. A L- also This 8 LED screen is more complex than it needs to be. There's no need to try to do everything. Every option has its pros and cons, but take a look at some videos on both options to get a better understanding. L-S is known for its EQ, which is one of its best features The only way to find out what you really are missing is to watch some videos on other mixers.

The mixer/recorder is well priced, with plenty of inputs and a battery-powered operation
4/5

This is a good product. An extremely capable device. The battery power alone makes it a good choice for use on the go, especially if you need a lot of inputs and you're working on the go. I docked a star because there is no user manual to speak of (just a quick start guide) and its layout is meant for those of us who already know how to use mixers. I would not recommend it to beginners, and even less to your mom for her podcast (unless you like to help out with her technology)

The Rodecaster Pro is clearly the closest competitor, and from a functionality standpoint, it's a serious This device is not as easy to use (not even close) as the Rocecaster Pro, and it does not offer the same high level of customization Using touch screen technology and processing abilities on the end of the line. Although it is not the best possible solution, This is what to buy if you do not have 6 Benjamins to spend on the Rode product, and you are familiar with using a real mixer. Even so, if two extra bills aren't a problem for you and you don't need the battery power, Rode's product might be worth a look.

The product from Zoom gets another five star rating
5/5

The product from Zoom gets another five star rating. It has a very flexible interface and is very easy A preamp offers plenty of gain, and headphones have an adequate level of volume. This works well as a sound This can be connected to a USB power bank for high quality recordings wherever you are. In the past, I've always used audio interfaces, but this is my first digital mixer. In the same price range, and in the same quality, it is capable of so much more than a typical usb audio interface.

A Portable/Mini- PC that might be the best available The amazing Studio Recorder (a portable recording studio)
5/5

In my experience, I have bought several digital recorders and this has become my go-to This recorder turned out to be the best one I found through my search for a portable digital recorder with more than two phantom-powered channels. To put it simply, it was very hard to find a recorder that was both portable and had SIX high-performance cameras onboard With phantom power, each amp delivers 1 amp. Note that this board contains a wide variety of menu driven controls that can work in conjunction with pre-existing pre-flight testing methods Putting it together. The recorder is thus able to produce better recordings due to the expanded capacity. This is the reason why I strongly encourage you to review the user's guide. The frustration will be reduced if this is done. It's great to have 6 assignable Sound Pads with 13 preset sounds that adds to the fun and adds another dimension to pod-production Those who caster. It's a fantastic recorder, plain and simple!.

Podcasting unit that is good as a standalone The music production definitely did not live up to your expectations
3/5

I want to start off by saying that this is a truly amazing The mixer has sliders and is excellent (with the mixer! ). with an excellent recorder and multiple ways to connect stuff, and 4 headphone outs alone are exemplary. If you are looking for something portable that works well with an MXL990, SM-D95 or any other device, this thing is unbeatable, especially at the price. It worked great with both devices. The system has 58 mics and Acousti-Guitar direct inputs, including a keyboard, iPad, and i-Pad Pro. However, please be aware of the following major limitations, which ultimately had me returning the unit and purchasing a separate mixer/recorder setup (please note that I am not a sound engineer, so I simply operate the controls by turning dials and moving sliders). It is not likely that 80 ohm headphones will perform at their greatest potential. Even at maximum volume, they are at most running at half the volume I would like when recording music
* the unit does not seem to be able If you hit muted low frequency notes with sustained high pitches (such as from a synth bass), you will hear popping distortion. The same thing happened when I hooked up external rockit 5 speakers. I thought it was just through the headphones at first, but it was the same when I connected other speakers. It is apparent from the meters / lights that there is no clipping going on. My master volume had to be down to 60% in order for it to go away (and my speakers had to be turned up). In this scenario, and combined with the above headphone limitations, you end up not having enough power in your ears to create a proper soundstage. Neither an effect out nor a send has been made! When you connect an instrument to the board you can only use the onboard effects unless you put the effects on before plugging in the instrument. Although the effects may not be a problem for an electric guitar player since they are usually part of the performance, they are a very serious limitation for a vocalist. In order to create a clean vocal track, you basically have to record it dry (or with only onboard effects). There is no way the singer can get an approximation of what their voice will sound like in the remix because most vocal mixing is a very subtle art, and having a raw vocal track to work from can be very difficult. Furthermore, there is no onboard compression within this application due to the previously mentioned lack of effect sending. I believe this is a very poor oversight on the part of a podcast unit. Speaking audio is characterized by compression as one of the most important effects. For me, it's not important as I do compression on the recorded tracks

so yes, I think this is a pretty I think you will be extremely disappointed with it if you use it to make your own music.
