This is a good product. An extremely capable device. The battery power alone makes it a good choice for use on the go, especially if you need a lot of inputs and you're working on the go. I docked a star because there is no user manual to speak of (just a quick start guide) and its layout is meant for those of us who already know how to use mixers. I would not recommend it to beginners, and even less to your mom for her podcast (unless you like to help out with her technology)

I want to start off by saying that this is a truly amazing The mixer has sliders and is excellent (with the mixer! ). with an excellent recorder and multiple ways to connect stuff, and 4 headphone outs alone are exemplary. If you are looking for something portable that works well with an MXL990, SM-D95 or any other device, this thing is unbeatable, especially at the price. It worked great with both devices. The system has 58 mics and Acousti-Guitar direct inputs, including a keyboard, iPad, and i-Pad Pro. However, please be aware of the following major limitations, which ultimately had me returning the unit and purchasing a separate mixer/recorder setup (please note that I am not a sound engineer, so I simply operate the controls by turning dials and moving sliders).
