Questions & Answers

If this record is placed about 20 feet away from the group, would it provide a realistic sample of our sound? Thanks a lot. ?

I find that quite a bit too close to be considered a truly homogenous sound. At first, I placed it near the stage to see how it would affect the crowd, but it ended up favoring the instruments closest to the stage. As a result, if it is moved to the back of the room it will result in more accurate sound. As well as coughs, chatter, and loud clapping back there, it picks up all of those If you want to use it on stage, or in front of the stage, you need to mix at least four evenly spaced mics to get a well-balanced In addition, post production editing should be done to clean up the sound after filming. There are a lot of sensitive components in this It will drive you crazy if you are a perfectionist if there are air conditioning systems, room acoustics, and loud clapping near the mics. Get Audacity for free and learn how it works. Before making any changes, familiarize yourself with hard limiting, compression, notch filters, noise reduction and level adjustments. Don't make unnecessary changes. Monitoring your edits can be done with headphones. Once you've got your raw Zoom files, you can quickly work magic on the tracks and make them sound far better than the raw file straight Having seen it all, I have a few hints that I have learned the hard way It's noob time! There are a few steps to using Zoom. In order to get the most out of it, we need to put a little more effort into it.

Does it make sense to record all four channels at the same time and get four separate files as a result?

It's a fine sound that you're getting with the H4N, but it would be a better solution for your specific application if you had a mixing board. Hence, the mixing board would be a better solution for you. Hence, you might want to look into the Mackie 802LZ4 mixing board, but you will need mics. You might want to look into condenser microphones. Because they are line powered, they are likely to be cheaper than battery-powered ones and most mixing boards have "phantom power." built in. There is software you will need, but you can find that easily for a low cost. Now you can get the limited version and later you can upgrade to the In this case too, I think the lite version of the mixing software (DAW) will do the trick just fine. On your laptop, you will be able to record with the mixing board acting as your audio interface and the software (DAW) as your recorder, editor, and CD

My mind is still fuzzy as to whether I should get the H5N or the H4N pro! ?

After being in these situations for a few days before buying H4n pro, I finally made the decision to buy it. All the big difference in the H5n is its switchable mic module and analog input knobs. You can get 4 XLR inputs with the mic module included in H5N, so you will have two XLR inputs plus the microphone module. Performing well, producing excellent sound, and providing reliable audio are all the same. In the following I will share my insight into both of them based on research and own experience.

There's nothing more important than the noise floor
4/5

Then read on! Since the Zoom H4 was released almost ten years ago, I have taken pictures with it four times. The Zoom H4 records audio, so whenever I shoot video I use the Zoom H4. They keep improving them, and I keep upgrading, and it's worth it every time. The noise floor on the older H4's has sometimes been a problem for me because I do mostly interviews. I wasn't sure about this one so I did an A/B comparison between it and my 2015 H4nSP as soon as I pulled it out of the box. It was amazing to see the difference! Compared to my old unit, this new one makes almost no noise. In terms of the rest, it's pretty much the same, but let's face it it's all about the noise, and Zoom did a good job on their latest My hat goes off to you. It is best to wear headphones if you want to get a sense of the difference between the two noise floors, as I do an A/B test on the video. Due to the draconian compression by Amazon, you will not be able to hear it here, but you can search the phrase "Zoom H4nPRO vs H4nSP" on YouTube for a version with a higher resolution. I'm sorry to bother you but The review writing I do has become an accidental hobby for me, and I am always gratified when someone finds my reviews helpful (or if not, why not). You can also post an open comment if you have questions, if you need clarifications or if you have general comments. It is usually pretty quick for me to respond, and I almost always do it.

An impression from the point of view of a beginner
5/5

In the past I'd often wished to be able to record my guitars, acoustic and electric, but had no idea how to do it, or what I would need to use. A site that recommended the Zoom H4N Pro 2016 was all over the Internet, which caused me to do lots of research. As of now, I've had this for a little less than a week and I am gradually learning all its capabilities and functions. Many sound recorders are available on the market, and my research indicated that Zoom was easier to use than most To use this, you do need a little bit of time, but the results are amazing, in my opinion. I am so impressed with the build quality of this machine, as well as the sound quality it produces. My battery life is not as good as it used to be, but I hear the same about other brands. As a result, I bought the Zoom AD-X Adapter for the 14A/D power line. In my view, this is a good idea, especially when you're first getting used to My batteries never run out because I can explore all the time I need without the worry of draining multiple sets. In order to use it, you will also need to have an SD card. In the case of my order, I ordered the SanDisk 32GB Ultra Class 10 SDHC UHS-II Recordings will be stored on an I card that holds hundreds of hours. My experience with this product is amazing. I am extremely pleased with it and am enjoying it a great deal!.

In the beginning, I needed something that was easy to use
5/5

Several of my friends and I started making youtube videos so I started buying the gear I needed piece by piece. However, the one thing we noticed held us back from producing great videos was the lack of good In light of this, I researched and read many articles suggesting I could benefit from a boom microphone. Although that is true, for now, $500+ is out of the question so I looked for cheaper alternatives, and I found some videos on YouTube recommending this handy sound recorder. After buying one, I was blown away by how amazing it is, so I love it! I got an attachment for my camera, and it captures audio so clearly and is very easy to use (if you are unsure about what to do, just use YouTube to figure it out). I bought it because it has XLR inputs, so when I do purchase my boom mic one day, I will be able to plug it in right away and capture both the audio from my boom mic as well as the audio from the built-in stereo microphones of the unit. I'm glad I purchased it, so I urge you to do your research and see if it is what you are looking for.

Sadly, the rubberized coating has gotten all sticky over time
3/5

My wish is that manufacturers would stop coating their products with this rubberized coating. It has been about a year since I have used my Zoom and I took it out of its case today and the back of it is Due to small rubber foot-pads, removing this coating is difficult and unsafe, so there is no easy or safe way to do so You'll also find the battery compartment as well as the pegs in the back. It's really so difficult to use regular plastic even when you want to. I am so disappointed by this. In addition, I've never taken the factory screen protector off the front screen, so the back of this device is a complete.

You can't get a more unreliable recorder than this one
3/5

If you work at a fast pace like a wedding or event, this product is not for you. I do not like this audio recorder - it is slow, tedious, and a big pain in the rear. I shoot weddings, and in my role as a wedding videographer, I need equipment that can output the best quality video. My battery ran out very quickly with this model, and it died while I was recording In addition, the record's boot up screen is extremely slow, and can take up to a couple minutes to load. There are times when you don't have enough time to set up before shooting a wedding, so you just plug and The product you are looking for is not this one.

Recommendations Compared to other audio recorders on the market, Zoom H1N (2018 Version) has more features, is plug and play, and is highly portable. . *B. This is a complete waste of money. There's nothing good about it.

I prefer the sound quality of this one over many other An old version was recommended to me by a friend
5/5

Now that I have the new one, I am happy. While it has a smaller size than the three zooms, it still has many features and it can't be beaten for quality. Its sound is clearer than other recording alternatives and it has a lot of professional features. There is one thing I would like to mention. You don't have to buy the sponge for the microphones, I made mine at home with a new sponge and carved it with a knife. It works surprisingly well and protects the crossed microphones. This device operates with two AA batteries (included) that may be suitable. I slept for 4 straight hours. For example, if you are working in a studio you should consider an ac adapter, while if you are on location, rechargeable batteries will be a better choice.
