This is the tool I use for paranormal investigations, and it has never disappointed me. You should also be sure to run the Zoom program on it so that you can control the audio. There is virtually no distortion and the images are clear and crisp. There were no negative effects such as fuzzy sounds when I amplified the sound over 3000%. The sound was just as crisp as if I stood Don't be afraid to spend the extra money.
When used carefully, the protective frame broke just because it was so weak. Having to turn it on and off each time is annoying. It has been said that the company will replace it, yet no one knows how long I will be without it. I might have to do some more shopping to find.
