Recording professional audio in the comfort of your own home
5/5

Experiences like this are common among home users. I have been trying out a number of different options for digitizing my vinyl collection. This unit was the one that finally piqued my interest. Initially, I was unhappy with the performance since I was using a standard RCA connection, and this unit does not offer any level control other than a gain increase via RCA. Having figured out how to use the front TRS/XLR connection, I can now proceed with the project more efficiently. The front TRS/XLR connection offers plenty of level options, featuring dials on the front, along with the level control knob on the front. Secondly, I am puzzled as to why there are two different input options. I do not understand why the back RCA inputs do not offer any level control, other than increasing the gain. In fact, this is a professional grade unit, and most likely professional grade equipment will come with output level controls, but considering its price, it's not unreasonable to think that home users will also buy it. I recorded with the RCA inputs on my consumer grade stereo system, but the signal was far too hot, so the whole recording clipped. You should make sure if you plan on buying this and recording from RCA that the gear that you intend to use to record from has a way to lower the level of the line out signal. Once I've settled that, I can honestly say that the recordings I've made with this are simply amazing. From 16/44, you can record in WAV format. For my vinyl recording, I use the Sony Walkman Hi-Fi which fits well with 24/96 as it pairs well with my vinyl recorder This player is for RES purposes. There are a number of MP3 quality formats you can use, including 48kHz 320 bitrates. It takes a little while to get used to navigation and recording techniques, and you have to read the manual to find out about all of the It wasn't hard once I put some time into this to figure out navigation and operation. There is not much room for all the buttons and controls on this unit, which makes sense for a unit that contains so much information in such a small area, but I find that the controls are difficult to use due to In my opinion, the ease of SD recoding, removing the card from the camera and popping it into my PC and copying the files in a few seconds is well worth the price. There is no error in the recordings, and the quality is outstanding There's no charge. The unit is able to accept Micro SDXC cards (with a card reader). A card that is larger than 128GB will show an invalid card message. My attempt was fruitless! And there are no moving parts in the recording unit to wear out. My experience is limited to what a home user would experience, so please note that these are my opinions, but I believe that this is an excellent Inputs that are on the front edge of the unit and have cables sticking out of the front do not appeal to me. it is understandable why this unit would be intended for this purpose It makes it easy for professionals to swap cables in a rack. If TEAC made a home version of this with all of the connections in the back and all of the level controls this would be perfect.

I have seen the few other SD recording units on Amazon, and they all have very poor ratings. The unit received a lot of high ratings, which convinced me to go for it. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

It is a good game with good audio, but it has some weird design choices
4/5

An adaptation of the portable DR-X that fits within 1RU As a backup solution, I use this during live streaming in case Audition crashes. Unlike other solid state recorders, the recordings made by this recorder do not have any hiss or extra noises that sometimes accompany solid state recordings of other brands. However, there are a few things I don't like. Despite the use of SD cards, there is no USB port on the device. In addition to convenience, I use USB drives as a convenient way to capture recordings and transfer them to a laptop without using a card reader as well as to record and review, edit direct from the recorder on a There are 1 channels in total The front of two of these monitors has controls for input volume and automatic leveling. We would have liked 3 if we had the time I propose that the four (inputs in back) should have the same input control feature as well as auto levels that TASCAM, for some reason, did not choose When it's possible to do so, I use the inputs on the back of all my equipment to keep studio desk aesthetics tidy and neat. To that end, the unit has a larger size than it should have. It appears that they are adding extra depth to help dissipate heat, but the extra depth is hanging out a few inches past the Pro VLA. What's the reason? I would recommend it if you're looking for value for money and a good brand. Upon listening I rate the audio as 4 stars, and I rate the unit itself as It would be good to improve the small details listed above.

I love the sound and quality of this track
5/5

With this program, you can record straight from the box, just select which input to record from. It offers lots of configuration options if you choose to use them, and I have used it to record my vinyl records. That's all there is to it! Just plug your turntable into the RCA inputs and press the record button. It does not require the use of a computer or any software for editing, It is the right thing to do. It is always good to check if you are using a magnetizing turntable, if so you need a preamp. Here is a link to the Pyle preamp that I use, which is sold here on Amazon. Does what it says on the tin. This device records directly to a SD card in many different formats. I use 320kbps of mp3 at the highest bitrate for the best results. I recommend it.

This is a great piece of audio equipment! As an upgrade, I bought and upgraded my studio, which I use primarily to podcast and record voiceovers
5/5

In spite of recording my shows for years with Adobe Audition software, I have always wanted to get away from it. My friend and I have been playing around with this for the last couple of days and it works My top concerns were ease of use and quality of recordings and this beauty passes with flying colors. I will provide a more comprehensive review once I have tested all of the bells and whistles.

It has a lower sound floor (background noise) than recording into a computer
5/5

I obtained off the top of this audio recorder are definitely better than any recordings I could achieve through a PC, whether it was a line input or USB input. As a result of its significantly lower sound floor, this unit makes an enormous difference when recording soft sounds that will later have to be boosted. I think the price is a little high for what it is, but it's hard to find any alternatives. There is only one thing I wish it had, in terms of design, which is the option to simply use a USB drive instead of There isn't much point in inserting and removing SD cards several times each day because they are delicate.

I am extremely pleased with this product
5/5

It seems Tascam has hit a home run with this one. I was able to get it right with minimal effort. In terms of value for money, this is unbeatable. There are two SD cards I bought This is a twenty-channel recorder. For my Presonus Channel Strips, I run a combo patch panel through it in case I need to use it for preamp In the past, recording engineers used amplifiers, compressor (extremely rare), or equalizer (rare but depends on the mic used, instrument, or voice) before the Tascam was invented. It is also possible to doctor the first SD card with the Channel Strips A second Tascam SD card was placed in the middle of the recording cycle of 20's It is possible to multiply by 20 if necessary. Having grown up with analog, I still prefer it to digital. It is not necessary to use a computer to accomplish Then I will edit (fade in and out only) with Studio One software on the stinking computer. FX in digital media is my biggest pet peeve. It is the SD-card that is used It is an awesome device! I am going to connect my Soundcraft MXFi 16 straight there. Taking a second look at The backup recording will be used for insurance purposes. Down the road, I am looking forward to getting a Tascam M24!.
