This unit comes in two versions, the DP- and the DP-M I have a DP-24SD and a DP-23HD As a result, the new DP is There are 12 mono channels and 6 fixed stereo channels on channel 24. As a result, the new DP is Each of the 32 channels is mono the remaining 10 channels are stereo or mono. If you want to record more than 8 tracks at once, you must either record 8 tracks in mono or 4 in stereo (each stereo channel counts as 2 tracks) or any combination of those. There is surprisingly little difference in processing or physical layout between the two.
Certainly you will need a power supply and a microSD card, but if you intend to record a lot, it might be worth investing in a bigger memory card.
I am not sure how, but you can use ProTools to record the vocals, since it was made for recording both instrumentals and vocals. I didn't need it because I create my instrumentals with software so I went with ProTools

Back in the day, two rolls of 2" tape (15 minutes each) used to cost more than a block of studio time. In the mid 1980s, home recording started to become a possibility. I had a Fostex Model 80 and 8 tracks on 1/4 inch I was surprised at how good it sounded. In the past, I spent a great deal of time soldering patch bays. Afterward, ADATs and finally Pro Tools appeared. My experience with those (and more) formats dates to 1972 so I simply cannot believe how much this recorder can do for just I have never encountered an interface as intuitive as this. Although there are definitely limitations compared to more expensive computer systems, you get 24 tracks (8 mic preamps), plus effects, mastering, and everything else that you could ask for in a good guitar pedal. After opening the box, we were only recording for a couple of minutes. We can help you record your tracks, mix them and master them. If you don't have a legit studio with all the latest gear, you can take your SD card to one and mix there. I believe this was the best audio purchase I have made in a very long time. Thanks, Tascam!.
Despite being a good unit, it doesn't have any of these features In either direction, 5db or 0db There are 10db pads for the inputs, which is a problem as the input signal becomes a little hot. Even when I turn the input volume down all the way, certain microphones and instruments are still prone to peaking. The manual simply mentions to "turn down the input source", as if we always had that choice. In case you're not recording directly from sources that have their own volume control or mics that come with a built-in pad, you'll need to invest in an in-flight recorder. The line pads (which range from about $10 to $60) will reduce the signal and act as the pad that should have been included with this unit from the beginning. Because this is not often mentioned in reviews, as well as the first and most serious issue I have faced with the mixer, I would like to emphasize it once again. As for the rest of the mixer, I've enjoyed it but would often use it only for demos if I'm not planning on exporting the files to computer later, since the compressor can only be set on the input tracks so you're stuck with the Like most mixers, you have to mess around for a while to figure it all out. The EQ is okay, and the effects are okay. While it isn't perfect, the SD card slot is a lot easier, as I can throw the SD card into my coin pocket and dump the files onto the computer later, as the computer will compile each take into song files. Check out Reaper ($60), a one-time fee, and a lot of VSTs and skins online if you're looking for a cheap recording program to pair with this.
The 008EX code. Each of them is an excellent recorder. In spite of this, the DPD Since it runs on batteries and is significantly lighter, 008EX is the more portable of the two. It seems like there isn't a lot of difference between the 2 except for portable nature. Each comes with an Owners Manual, which is one of their greatest assets. It is the best manual I have ever seen in my life as a gadget addict. In this chapter, you will learn how to use the recorders step by step. This is followed by a section that offers a quick start, followed by a more detailed section. Each and every instruction is illustrated with a picture illustrating the correct button to press with a forefinger. As a result of my recording sessions, I achieve much better results than I do from As well as transfer, it is easy to distribute recordings from a computer.
Music is not my specialty, so I will not be able to give an opinion based on it. Although I'm a strong electronic and computer engineer, I have a lot of experience in management. In addition to that, I am very impressed with the quality of the device. The unit is not made in Japan, which I would have preferred, but in China. TEAC is a Japanese company that has been making musical instruments for quite some time. The quality of the presentation is still impressive. Can you give me an idea of the price range? dollars for it), but the inputs and track knobs feel very familiar to me. Except for that, the unit is well constructed. All the features it has to offer are not easy to learn, and there is a learning curve, like the old adage goes, no pain, no gain. There are already a few songs we've recorded, and we are extremely pleased. The following is an update as of June 14th, 2017 It still has a lot to offer. I'm learning how to use it. It is impossible to find a better home recording product than the TASCAM DP-500 There are 32SDs. In our case we record a song, and use Audacity (free software) to do the mixdown, add compression, normalize if needed, clean up, etc. Finally, we encode the MP3s so they can be played by pretty much any media player. This is how it performed in my tests. With the 1Hz 1 volt power supply, I was then able to feed the 21kHz 1V PP, which is at the other extreme of the human hearing range, so all these frequencies were passed with minimal When I raise the frequency a little higher than 21Khz, the degradation becomes more noticeable, as.
