Questions & Answers

sing live while playing a recorded backing track. Is it possible to add a mixer after the recorder or do I need to input that information into the recorder?

The best thing you can do would be to record the backing track in the Tascam (you have 8 tracks to work with), then add a mic and record in Here are the. There is an equalizer in Tascam so that you can adjust the quality of your vpice according to your tastes. The device is a great little device. I wasted two years purchasing software packages after software packages to use on my computer that never delivered the goods. Tascam is my favorite camera because of its ease of use While the manual is quite good for walking you through creating a master track (wav file) which can then be uploaded onto your computer, it can be quite difficult to learn. Another free software program was downloaded in order to convert the wav to mp3 format. The Tascam onvce will be easy for you to use if you are used to

My only concern is that despite the glowing reviews about this unit, I have a question about it If you want to listen to your music on your computer, do you have to download it via some music software? Is it possible to directly download to a CD recorder if that is your preference?

Since SD cards are being used in this unit, you will need a computer or laptop with an SD card reader and you can drag and drop the files created to wherever you like, then burn directly to a CD or DVD or use free software like Audacity to edit and produce

Are individual tracks kept in the exported files when you export multi track recordings?

The 44 is the only format available for export. The track will be exported as a 1K 16 bit stereo or mono file, although you can choose which track to export from the list. In the course of my workflow I export the multitrack recordings into a few files and import them into the computer for further processing.

Could you use this recorder to record a drum machine track, then put vocals and guitar on it ?

Drums are usually recorded on track 1 in the left set of knobs, and then guitars, keyboards, vocals, etc. are added to track 2 in the right set. It is possible to export some of these tracks and remove the content and re-use them if you need more than the 8 available, as well. Even if you keep in mind a few basic tracks, you can still get them to match time-wise as long as you keep it simple.

The device is simple to use and requires no PC to record
5/5

With reasonably good results, I have been using software-based programs (Audacity and Reaper) to record at home during the past couple of years. I have, however, been frustrated with latency issues, and the extent to which you have to become an expert at computer hardware just to record a multi-track audio recording Several tracks were found. It made me miss the simplicity of the old tape to tape reel to reel days on Tascam. It's not that working in the digital media field is without its advantages. (I thought this recorder might recapture some of that simplicity while still allowing me the possibility of editing the final tracks or master recording in a PC program if I so desired. As far as I know, that is true. This unit has been with me for 3 weeks now and I am quite satisfied with its performance. When you hold this device, you get the sense that it is substantial. There are good controls on all of them. I have already recorded six songs on it, and they have all turned out well. In spite of the lengthy manual, the instructions are extremely detailed and come with pictures of the screens you will encounter as you follow the instructions, which is extremely useful. Also, at the start of the book, there is a lovely Quick Start section. The quick start section led me to record the first arrangement of a percussive electric guitar song as a test. 2 stereo tracks doing the primary guitar part, 2 stereo tracks doing a bass part, and two stereo tracks of background chord and harmonics tracks. I spent about 20 minutes on it. When you start the unit, you choose the inputs you want it to record (mic, line, guitar), press the 1 and 2 track record buttons, set your levels, press PLAY and RECORD together and you're on your way. You rewind to the beginning and press 3+4 to record the next stereo track, etc. If you mess up a take, you just backtrack to the beginning of that track and rerecord. Each track is equipped with individual reverb, pan and level. As you record new tracks, the previous tracks will automatically play back, and there will be no lag time issues! If I put all caps on this, I still cannot stress it enough! The song continues from track 1 to track 5. (If Track 5 and 6 do not enter until two minutes into the song, simply arm the tracks and start from track To record new tracks, you don't have to start over from the beginning. There are a number of different ways to control the reverb in this unit, and it did a great job recording an acoustic guitar song in stereo and with reverb (a number of different reverb types are There is a built-in metronome and tuner, you can bounce tracks without degradation (freeing up tracks for recording more tracks), you can mix up to 8 tracks into a stereo mix, and then you can apply mastering effects (auto or manual) to the final mix. The recordings are saved on an SD card, with the ability to transfer them by USB to a computer for further editing or saving as a WAV file. Moreover, it has built-in condenser mics on the front that allow live performances to be captured. Furthermore, you can punch in and out automatically. On an item smaller than a VHS cassette, all of this is possible. I had fun with this.
NOTE This is a. Despite its appearance, this is not a mixing board. It looks like a small mixer with 8 inputs. It does not support There can only be 2 recordings taking place at once, and the mixer is used to set the recording levels for the two active recordings, in addition to playing back the ** 1. There can be no recording via USB interface with this device. If you want to transfer files to your computer after recording them, not while recording them, you have to do so AFTER.

I love it
5/5

It isn't expensive for what it claims it will do. I was a little concerned by the price. Once you get familiar with it, you can play around with it and put your fears to rest. This is an awesome device for someone starting out, It is especially important if you are like me, and have some experience and knowledge with various instruments but don't normally interact with musically inclined people. The music can be streamed from your head to other people's ears or just your own. The packaging is excellent, well protected, and the item arrived on time. I apologize for the half-review, I have not played with it enough to give an adequate rating. Oh, and do yourself a favour when you get this device by getting the ac adapter and an SD card atleast 16 gig. As long as you have ample battery power, you won't have to worry about spending a fortune on batteries however, with built-in microphones, you can record almost anything you want. Its only downside was that it stated the memory card was 4Gig which is correct but there was a demo song on it that lasted less than 2 minutes and was 43MB in size, so that wasn't too Here's the bad news the entire song takes up 2 minutes. I've got 03Gigs! There's no way to get rid of I suggest getting another one to go The music in this documentary is great, but other than that tiny nugget at the end, I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to expand their knowledge about music. Thank you!.

The blonde and the Corvette are some of the things that some guys get Tascam is the new recorder I got
5/5

A treasured piece of furniture, my midlife crisis treat to myself, sits at the center of my tiny home studio. The cost of maintenance is less than that of the I prefer B because it is less trouble. Okay, I'm sure you get the point. It's been a longtime wish of mine to own a Tascam multichannel recording system Since that very first cassette-based track unit was introduced to me, I have always wanted one This is the basis for your Technology has caught up with me now, so I'm glad I waited until then. Although I still need to learn about the program, I'm amazed at how good it sounds. I didn't realize that I wasn't using my large microphone because the onboard mics are so good that I got confused about my inputs The closer I got to the mic, the worse it became. I tried moving closer to the microphone for several minutes without seeming to work. There is a lot of information in the manual, but it is well laid out and there is a quick-reference guide for most things We have covered most of how to begin in our start section. The steps in the guide for mixdown and mastering are still fresh in my mind, but I know what to do. Using an automatic translator It does an excellent job when it comes to mastering. Creating a mixdown/master, exporting, and transferring files to a computer is a straight-forward process. Saving and exporting files requires a bit of time, but they aren't overwhelming There seems to be complaints in some reviews, but I am not sure why. Whenever I am in the studio, I do not want to rush through things. In comparison to the other units, I am very glad that I chose this one. The Digital Project - I highly recommend purchasing model 006, as it comes with several features that make it worth the small cost It's very handy to have control over all eight tracks, as well as XLR inputs and line outs. Even when doing solo work, I soon discovered that I was making use of most of them, since I did not have to bounce tracks. The short (2-minute) (2-minute x 5) was mentioned by a few people In the second part of the auto punch-in, we introduce the machine - Manual punching has been found to be not as effective as computer punching An easy way to get in is to use a foot pedal. If you normally do anything A keyboard foot pedal will work when it is open. on eBay, I purchased a nurse call button with a momentary switch and a 1/4" power This is the perfect punching bag for punch-outs This is an insert With the Tascam I finally got, my first one is all I've hoped for and more. It's easy to react faster to get punched when between phrases, and I don't have to look down for my pedal or worry about kicking it and making a sound. Product of very high quality.
