This is not according to line of sight for a radio frequency signal. If you block the RF signal with your body, the signal will still pass through. The difference between this mic and a cheaper handheld can be heard clearly when switching between them. Mic feels a little light in the hand, but I think that's a good thing. Do you really want to stand there for a long time holding a microphone with all your weight?.
A wireless mic was necessary for my job as a mobile DJ. After taking a chance and getting the BLX24/PG58, I am in love with it. I was able to program it and set it up very easily. I was struck by the quality of the sound coming out of my EV ZLX's. It was super clean, crisp, and just outright amazing. For the price, it's a great mic. I will buy it.
My experience so far has been good with great connection, did lose a star, might lose more in the future as the body is plastic and not durable like the SM58 styling as I had anticipated. If this survives, it will be worth the amount paid for the mics.
I don't have any issues. I'm very happy with it. This is a brand new, battery powered device that comes with batteries. When a professional auctioneer used the mic for the first time, the mic reeked of Lysol can be used to kill bacteria in your mouth. You might also want to avoid sharing your microphone.
This device has all the channel settings, and I cannot get a proper reception no matter what I do. My last resort was to contact the manufacturer, who performed a frequency test for me, and advised that this model would not work well in South Florida because most television and radio stations share the same spectrum. I have to keep the mic and the receiver within 10ft of each other for this to function. So I'm basically wasting my money on this.

I expected it to work, but it didn't. It also did not meet my expectations in terms of construction. Everything is made of plastic, and it feels very cheap. Shure is a company I expected to do better. The one I have is now in need of replacement by a Sennheiser model. Despite the fact that Amazon refunded my money, they did a great job.
