I purchased this item, but my laptop does not recognize the receiver as a microphone input due to the 3. The mic input on the 5mm receiver head (4th ring) is missing. Most laptops now have a single combined microphone and headset input. To receive audio input via the jack, the receiver in this product requires a mic jack rather than the combined jack. So I don't see how you can feed your audio instructions into live music without an extra mic adapter, which isn't included with this product.

It should work as long as the speaker has a mic input. For outdoor weddings, I use it in conjunction with my Bose S1 Pro Bluetooth speaker. We've given it to the officiants, and they're blown away by how clear it is.
We've been using this mic set at church for over three hours and still have some battery life left. We're not sure how long it will last.

It has a good range, better than 50 feet, and it is being used for exercise classes and outdoor events with a PA system. It has rechargeable batteries with a two-hour battery life, as well as two great features: no belt pack or cable, and volume control buttons on the headset. I purchased this to replace a PA system that I was using as assistive technology for a deaf student. With two weeks left in the school year, they removed the previous system. This is connected to the soundbar that comes with my projector. It has performed flawlessly and with the same level of clarity as the much more expensive system I was given. I only wish the battery lasted longer or had a charging dock, but at this price, that is unrealistic to expect. I am looking forward to using this in the coming school year and have already recommended it to other teachers who are interested in using a similar setup in their classroom. It's a joy to use because of the low latency of the sound transmission.
I currently have about ten Samson units, and all of my trainers are having issues with them; they're terrible, especially now that they've gone to k-school. Using a tiny receiver and transmitter, they work twice as well in terms of quality. I'm not sure if it'll hold up to the rigors of a gym, but if it lasts a month, I'll keep buying them!
