It's mostly true. After reading most of the reviews of the actual Headrush gig bag, I decided to purchase this case for my headrush pedalboard. Despite the fact that the case fits most of the dimensions perfectly, it is deeper than the thickness of the board. I had to fill the case with foam to keep the board from moving around. The quality is excellent and it can probably withstand a lot of abuse. wouldn't recommend this case for touring, but I can use it for carrying around on my own.
