br>br>I'm an old guitar player who's always been a little envious of these guys I've heard and their gorgeous slide licks, but I've never seriously considered getting one. br>br>Well, my wife gave me a Gretch square neck resonator (dobro) for Christmas (open G tuning), and I loved it so much that I decided to get an electric lap steel in C6 tuning and play with that Hawaiian style tuning. I found this and bought it based on the reviews, so I'm adding my five stars to the pile. br>br>It's great to be able to play it anywhere in the house, but I also got one of those little Vox headphone amps they sell here, so now I can sit in my easy chair in the bedroom and practice while my wife watches TCM (she also plays back up for me on guitar and bass and enjoys it). br>br>Talk about getting your money's worth! I began by changing the settings on my Seagull S6. When I was ready to invest, I went with this option because of the low price and positive reviews, and I was not disappointed. I got it, set the tuning to C6, and began playing. The string spacing and fret spacing are not the same as on my S6, but the sound is fantastic. br>Another advantage is that I can practice quietly using headphones and my wife will not object.
I'm impressed by how well my VOX practice amp stays in tune and how good the sound is. br>I find that my metal slide bar outperforms the glass slide bar, so if you want to get the most out of this instrument, get one.
I was just getting into lap steel and after giving it some thought, I decided that this one had the best reviews in terms of quality. For the money, this is a great lap steel.
Hello, I just received my black sx rondo lapsteel. It took three days to get from New Hampshire to Arizona, which is a good thing. Today is December 19, 2019 and the lapsteel sounds great. I tuned it to C6 tuning and raised the bottom string to match different songs. I run it through a fender champion 20 watt amp.
This arrived on time, and the pick-up sounds fantastic for the price.
