Questions & Answers

Could you please tell me if they are for electric or acoustic lap steels?

Electric lap steel guitars are made with these.

The way these are stretching, how long will it last? For the past month, I have had them mounted on a Rondo SX Lap 2 Steel and they still go flat every few days. ?

Stretch the strings with your fingers when you tune them for the first time. Continue tuning and repeating. As a result of this pre-stretching, the are more likely to stay in tune. Having done this for years, it's second nature to me. When you break a string on stage and have to zero in on the retuning, this is your best friend.

It's mixed
4/5

Some of it is good, some of it is Firstly, I have to say that the customer service I received was excellent when one of my new C6 lap steel strings broke while I was tightening it for the first time. After I mailed them a replacement gauge, they sent me a smaller replacement immediately. Due to the fact that I'm fairly new to steel, I only have my regular 6-inch steel Those who have played string guitars should compare their experiences. The strings do feel "firmer" under the slide when I'm playing, but I don't know if that helps. The game I'm playing is 24 minutes long They are on a 22 to 23 inch scale, so they aren't likely to feel excessively loose like a steel 22 or 23 inch in size. A less flexible material would be ideal, if it is possible without breaking. As far as I know, I will not know if this is normal until I try other brands. It has already been mentioned that these strings do not come individually packaged in plastic as other reviewers have stated. There is no plastic packaging, so if that is important to you, don't worry. I found my set to be in perfect condition.

A sound like this has never been heard before
5/5

The guitar my wife bought years ago for learning to play was a gift from her. Some of its features were not working properly. It lost her interest. I wanted to play lap steel on an acoustic guitar. It's nothing to worry about, just give it a try. By reworking the bridge and making the nut higher, I was able to keep the strings in place. This was the best guitar sound I've ever heard. Strings of this weight have no chance of bowing your neck, because they are so light. I guess I was just lucky because I have no idea what strings are one from another.

Had no choice but to abandon ship
3/5

I snapped the third string as I was fitting it. It is unknown whether or not it was defective or if this happens often with this brand. Without a doubt, I could not play the lap steel I bought I am devastated.

I really like the strings
5/5

They do what they're supposed to do. That was just what I needed for my Grestch Electromatic Lapsteel from the 50s. The person I was playing pedal steel with recommended trying open tuning the guitar in C6. I've only ever played open tuning in D or E. The only way to begin learning C6 is to get a string gauge set made for C6 Some strings will be too loose while others will be too tight when using standard strings. I really like the sound and flexibility of the C6 tuning and I've really enjoyed playing this set.

It is priced right and there are no special features! The strings you get for the money are great, but nothing special!
