I've learned to play a variety of percussion instruments (drums, clave, maracas, various types of shakers, tambourines, cow cell, and wooden frogs) over the years, and I recently purchased some small wooden musical spoons that I found to be simple to play. I did, however, want to add a good pair of metal spoons to my collection. br>br>After searching Amazon for these metal spoons, I came across this great product (Grover/Trophy FN 232 Musical Spoons) for a great price; I just received them and found them to be easy to play, and I'm having fun practicing them to music. These musical spoons sing beautifully thanks to the device that holds them at the perfect angle. This product is fantastic. br>br>If you're looking for metal musical spoons, this Grover/Trophy musical spoons is a great option. br> br> br> br> br> br 5 stars. Joseph J. For those who are just learning to play the spoon, this is a great option. You won't need the bottom par to keep them together once you've progressed because you'll be able to do it on your own. It is, however, a useful musician's tool for anyone who plays a main instrument, in this case drums and percussion, but also enjoys having gadgets around. I bought them for my girlfriend, who is a pianist who is also incredibly talented at backup percussion and other small instruments such as tambourine, bongos, spoons, jaw harp, harmonica, and so on. She didn't really need them because she can play well enough without the connection in the end, but it was a fun gift to give and is excellent for beginner players who want to learn the spoons.
Because the two spoons are both attached to the red handle, you won't have to worry about balancing them and can instead concentrate on keeping the beat.
The calluses and Band-Aids that used to cover my fingers are no longer present thanks to the plastic handle that connects the two metal spoons. There's a clack-clack sound on this model. For starters, a y tone will suffice. If you're a serious player, you might want to consider upgrading to a more powerful computer. For a more musical sound, use high-quality metal. These are a good buy for the money.
The spoons were purchased for a percussion kit for children in preschool. I don't know what spoons are supposed to sound like because I'm not a real player, but I really like the sound of these. They might not last long at the preschool because the spoons bend easily (I believe this is what another reviewer means by "adjusting for sound"), but there are several ways to make music with them: Instead of using the handle, pinch the spoons together and place them on your palm, leg, floor, seat, or other soft surface. It's fairly simple for my three-year-old. year- I'm sure it's fun to make noise with spoons, but I won't speculate on how close it comes to music. Although the sound is different on an adult palm than on a child's palm, it still sounds great when a child taps it, and it carries well, which is fantastic.
WHEN YOU ORDER THESE SPOONS, DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING OUTSTANDING IN APPEARANCE, BUT THEY DO SOUND NICE! THEY ARE MUCH LARGER IN REAL LIFE THAN THEY APPEAR IN THE PHOTO. THEY'RE TOO BIG FOR MY HAND PALM, BUT I'LL WORK WITH THEM AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I'D LIKE TO TEACH A 4 YEAR OLD WITH THESE, BUT I'M NOT SURE IF THEY WILL WORK FOR HIM. If you're giving it to a child as a toy, it's fine; otherwise, it's not worth the money. All you have to do is learn to play two spoons at the same time. It isn't difficult at all, and you can learn how to do it by watching videos on YouTube. Because this product is too stiff, doing things like the finger rake is difficult or painful. It's much easier with actual spoons. Mine is currently being thrown away.
As a one-time use, it's a good choice. The spoons are made of a flimsy metal that isn't particularly durable. They are popular with my grandchildren, but the material is a little flimsy.
