What size should a 5-year-old wear?

I have castanets, and even though I am an adult, my hands are small. A 7-year-old in my class does the same. They appear to be quite large on her hands, but the instructor assured her that this was not a problem. The most important aspect of playing castanets is being able to coordinate arm and foot movement while maintaining proper tempo, so I assume that size isn't an issue when starting out. The diameter of the round part (measured from the outside) is 7 cm. The width is 9 cm and the length is 9 cm.

I'm looking for castanets for my 15-year-old daughter. What size should I get?

Size 6 is what I would recommend.
