My instrument was a cigar box kind of thing and I was impressed by the sound it produced. Those shaved and dried ones were nicely shaved, and they were cooked without salt, I believe.

My first drum head was made in an attempt to figure out how it would happen. I had no prior experience making a drum. This is how it would sound as a voice. It was a gamble, but I ended up buying it. I had no problems with it at all. The error I made even caused me to have to remove it and do it all over again In spite of that, I was still able to redo it and it still worked Tightly stretched This is very impressive and sounds great.

In fact, I submitted the drum I made to two art contests. As far as I can tell, it now resides in my studio where people can use it as an inspiration to make clay instruments.

It's typical for Doumbek skins to have a thin look and a bright tone with I would suggest using this skin with a djembe or Ashiko due to its density. You should purchase at least multiple skins so that you can pick one that suits your taste since every skin is unique.
