Djay Pro is now fully compatible without the need to map anything, just so you know. This is a fantastic pairing.
As of July 7, 2018, the SB3 does not work with Rekordbox out of the box. There's most likely a way to map and fool rekordbox into working with it - due to the fact that rekordbox works with the older but similar SB2 - However, it won't be a simple "plug it in" situation.
Yes, but it's a small one that should work with any headphones that have a 3. Audio cable, 5 mm

Selected User Reviews For Pioneer DJ DJ Controller, Black, (DDJSB3)
This is a fantastic controller for the price. Although it is said to be for beginners, I began DJing in the late 1990s with two Technic 1200 turntables and crates of vinyl. I sold all of my old DJ equipment and stopped going to clubs to focus on music production, but I've recently gotten the itch to play around with mixing again. I won't be using it very often, so I didn't need anything too expensive or fancy, but this thing does have a lot of features! This is what I use with Djay Pro, which includes Spotify integration. Some say it isn't compatible, but it is; it's just not mapped out by default, so you'll have to do it yourself. I'm sure Algoriddim will fine-tune it soon, but for the time being, it works. If you're curious, I've got it hooked up to a 2016 Macbook Pro and Rokit 6 studio monitors with no sound or humming issues. 5 Stars! I would strongly suggest it.
This is a fantastic DJ controller at a reasonable price. The construction quality is excellent. Buttons are extremely responsive, and the jog wheels are as sensitive as those found on higher-end Pioneer controllers. Pad scratching is a cool feature that isn't too powerful. For smooth cuts and scratches, the cross fader moves smoothly. The mixer section includes all of the tools needed to create professional-sounding performances. Pitch sliders are a little short ranged; they could have been longer, like the Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 for a similar price. br>Comes with Serato DJ Lite, which includes a few enhancements over Serato DJ Intro, such as volume monitoring line meters. br>The unit is well-balanced and has grip ridges for ease of use. br>I'm very happy with this product and would recommend it to others.
My first gig was just a few weeks ago, and I'm really excited about it. Great. I just finished my first gig, and I nailed it, so I highly recommend this controller. For this controller and previous editions, there are numerous tutorials available on YouTube.
This unit has a lot of emotions attached to it. br>br>It suits me well as a controller; It was precisely what I needed in terms of command-and-control. The layout is familiar, and most controls can be mastered with a little time spent reading and experimenting. br>br>The faders are very light and move with little resistance. This is useful for sudden changes, but it has a cheap feel to it. The tempo fader on the right half, in particular, is poorly mounted and slants to the side, contributing to the cheap appearance. On this unit, all of the bottom pads are the same color, whereas on more expensive decks, they come in a variety of colors, which would greatly improve operation while adding very little to the unit's cost. It may appear to be a silly way to differentiate product pricing tiers (this is one of the most affordable models in the line), but Serato does something similar (more on that in a minute). The platters are hefty enough, so I'm glad it appears to be well-made and of good quality. The only way to find out is to wait. The knobs and pads are fine. br>br>Serato has a clever scheme that only allows their software to output to a Serato-compatible sound card. a controller with a logo This controller is not intended to be used solely for Serato software control. This is important because the sound card in this DDJ-2000 isn't very good. SB3 is a complete waste of time. When not playing anything (or playing something really quiet), there's a lot of electronic noise, which is especially noticeable when the controller first starts up (when loading/clearing a play deck, starting/closing Serato, etc. ). When I'm setting up in the studio with headphones on, a poorly shielded and crappy sound card (with only RCA outs) drives me insane. br>br>On the other hand, MIXXX (free software! ) allows you to direct the sound wherever you want it without having to use the DDJ- SB3, while retaining control of the DDJ's trim, EQ, filtering, and playback controls. They are able to do so because they have a plug-in. in for the SB2 (hopefully soon to be followed by the SB3), which is almost a shoe-in. (The tempo fader is in the wrong position, and a number of Serato DJ Pro features, such as beat matching, aren't working. ) br>br>Serato DJ Lite (included with the controller) is a depressing application that goes to great lengths to entice you to upgrade to DJ Pro. Don't pay $129 if you can get it for $99 somewhere else. The two applications aren't even the same. I have both DJ Pro and DJ Lite installed, and I'm hoping all the audio analyzing I did in my library for DJ Lite wasn't for naught. With DJ Pro, you can have two installs (a desktop and a laptop, for example), but only one can run at a time. DJ Pro gets you a lot of things that MIXXX doesn't, and DJ Pro is $49 if you're on Mac. Serato believes that they own the company and that everyone else is an afterthought. ran. They keep reminding you that they're "legendary. " br>br>In retrospect, I should have started with DJay Pro rather than Serato DJ Pro (I could always buy DJay and have both). Because the sound card in this thing is so bad, I'm only going to use it for Serato dancing and not for other events or functions.
I own a ddj sx3 controller that works with Serato DJ Pro. I purchased this unit because I needed a smaller unit. It has a pleasant ambiance. Goldie locks are the perfect size, neither too big nor too small. br>This is the problem I'm having. Serato DJ lite, not Serato DJ pro, is unlocked with this code. Despite the fact that I have DJ Pro, which is compatible with the sx3. Serato claims that I still need to buy upgrade licenses in order to use it with this controller. I guess I didn't pay attention to the small print. Serato DJ lite is a little too restricted for my tastes.
This controller has sparked a great deal of discussion. I just wanted to learn a new platform and find a new hobby, so I got it. So far, this controller has proven to be very user-friendly. Even with the Serrato Dj Lite software, there are a lot of features to take advantage of. It appeals to me. I intend to master this in the future so that I can upgrade. However, if you're looking to break into the DJ scene, this is a must-read.
Gemini. My most recent purchase was Traktor S2 with Traktor Pro, but I began to experience problems with the S2 controller not connecting to my laptop. As a result, I looked for something similar to what I had and discovered the Pioneer DDJ-2000. SB3. Tell you what, I'll tell you what. I really like it! It's very simple to use, and I'm currently using it with the VDJ8 software. It's slightly longer (about an inch). When compared to my previous controller (5 inches), this one has a lot more features! I just wish the controller's soundcard had TRS/XLR outputs rather than the RCA outputs. However, aside from that This controller is absolutely incredible!.
100% would recommend it to any Serato DJ beginner. The features are more than adequate for a beginner, and with practice, you can perform a wide range of advanced mixing with this small device. The FX section is a little limited, but with a little creativity, you can come up with some cool effects. I also adore the eight sizzling cues!!.
