If your speakers only have three male RCA cables, you'll need two to connect to them. There is an adapter available for 5mm input. For me, I return the audio to my computer and play it through the computer's speaker.
If your speakers are red, you should replace them. If you have a white input, you are ready to go. If this is not the case, you may need to look into adapters to complete the connection.

Selected User Reviews For Pioneer DJ DDJ-400 - 2-deck Digital DJ Controller for rekordbox dj Software (Included), with 16 Performance Pads and 2-channel USB Interface
This one or the RB3 were the two options. I went with the DDJ 400 because it came with a rekordbox software license and was designed to look as much like the professional Pioneer club CDJs as possible. I began with the Numark Party Mix and quickly outgrew it, deciding that I needed something more complex, with more features and functions, to accomplish my goals. I compared all of the Pioneer, Roland, and Numark controllers available in this price range before settling on this one. When it comes to the layout and features of a controller, this is probably very close to what you'll find in a club setting. It's also suitable for an aspiring DJ who is just getting started with DJing and wants to progress to more advanced techniques. Has all of the necessary buttons, pads, and knobs for the majority of effects and functions. If you ever want to play in a club, learning and practicing with this will help you get used to the higher-end Pioneer CDJs. There are numerous instructional YouTube videos available for this controller to help you get started. I strongly suggest it. br>br>.
Controller is very good. Find another controller unless you want to manually set the first beat and research and enter the track BPM and key for nearly every song you play, because the terrible Rekordbox software% Alternatively, you can purchase software such as Virtual DJ 8 to use with this controller. Rekordbox also performs poorly on my high-end laptop, causing audio distortion, whereas VDJ 8 runs flawlessly on the same machine. br>br>The controller itself is very nice and enjoyable to use; my only criticisms of the hardware are as follows:
- There are no four track buttons like on the SB3 (I wish I had gotten that controller instead, even if I'd have to buy Serato)br>- The blue effect button has a very bright blue hue to it. br>- There is no master tempo buttonbr>br>If you're like me and thought you got a good deal because it came with free software, I'm here to tell you that it's not true. I tried numerous times to use the included software, but I didn't realize my error in time to return the controller within the warranty period and replace it with one that works with better programs. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> My DDJ 400 has been in my possession for over six months. I have to say that it has held up exceptionally well, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. br>br>Instead of the included Rekordbox software, I've been using Virtual DJ, which I find to be far superior.
Defective/Returned with a request for a refund Advantages: br>br> Pads/platters are lightweight, simple to set up, and fairly responsive. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. Pioneer's tech support is terrible, and the headphone jack is dead/unusable right out of the box. If you're thinking about buying this, it's (would have been) a great first controller. br>br>If you're thinking about buying this, it's (would have been) a great first controller. br>br>If you're thinking about buying this, it's (would have been) a great first controller. br>br>If you're thinking about buying this, it's (would have been) a great first controller. br> However, keep in mind that if you run into any problems, Pioneer DJ may not be able to help you:br>.
Possibly the best entry-level $200-$300 controller ever made. In the $300 range. It's for simple reasons. This controller has the feel and functionality of Pioneer's higher-end equipment. The DDJ 400 is simple to set up for a beginner. Filter knobs, loop/beat/sample controls, and other controls are located exactly where they would be on a high-end Pioneer mixer or multi-player. I was a long-time Serato user, and the switch to Rekordbox has been far more user-friendly than I anticipated. Mixvibes software makes it simple to import Itunes playlists and music libraries into Rekordbox. (Cross DJ by mixvibes will do it for you automatically. ) I had been frustrated with the entry-level controller selection until this beauty arrived. Great for live performances, on the go, house parties, festivals, and more. as a result of its size and sturdiness You only need one USB cord, and it's a lot easier to come up with $250 than it is to come up with $5,000 for a proper DJ setup!.
It has everything I'm looking for in an entry-level DJ mixer. DJ controller on a whole new level, and it's also surprisingly light!.
This is my first Rekordbox deck, having previously used Traktor. There are two reasons why I gave this book four stars. One. br>br> It's a fantastic deck, but it's also a beginner's deck. There are some features I'd like to have, but I can see why they're on the DDJ-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Not the DDJ-1000, but the 1000 I still want them despite the price of $400. For instance, depending on the type of cue, I like to color code my cue points. When it comes to the DDJ, it's all about the music. 400 Because the buttons aren't multicolor, all of the cues are amber in color, regardless of Rekordbox settings. Second, and this isn't the fault of the deck, I'm annoyed that Rekordbox doesn't work with my Mixed In Key software. Even if I do have to tweak some from time to time, it's a solid portable deck that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend when there are hundreds or thousands of songs to add cue points to. br>br>It's a solid portable deck that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend when there are hundreds or thousands of songs to add cue points to.
It's so small and light, and it works perfectly with Rekordbox on my MacBook Pro. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone interested in learning how to use a CDJ but doesn't want to spend $984759874587 on a full setup. All of the buttons and knobs are identical to those found on the CDJ 2000 NXS and DJM mixers.
This controller is incredible, and Rekordbox is incredibly simple to pick up and use. It's made of plastic, but it appears to be well-made and sturdy, as well as being light and portable; the only drawback is that it's only a two-channel controller. It's unquestionably the best option for getting your feet wet.
