My Alienware gaming rig, which is 17 inches wide, fits perfectly on the tray. The only issue with this product is that it lacks any kind of slip resistance. The stand slides off if I tilt it in any way for better viewing or keyboard comfort. My smaller notebooks can grab a hold of the side lifts and stay put, but with a little sake, they'll fall over. The lifts are designed to accommodate a tablet-sized device rather than a laptop. You'll be completely above the lifts, especially if you add any resistance material.
They appear to be well-built and functional. It takes some time to put them together and set them up. br>br>The table top is made of that cheap, brittle plastic that shatters if you drop it or drop something on it.
This product is fantastic, and I use it to protect my laptop. Because of the different adjustable levels, I love that I can use it while standing or sitting. I like that I can use it with my desktop because it's the perfect size to fit on my main computer desk. I bring my laptop up next to my wall-mounted tv and plug it in when I want to watch a PowerPoint or something else on my living room television. Without exerting any effort. It appeals to me. My son uses the second one in his room for his personal laptop. I also appreciate how portable it is for travel.
I wish I had known what the flat base was made of before placing my order. I wanted a stand with a thicker metal plate, but this one is thin and made of plastic. It will, however, hold ANY evenly weighted item. I plan to keep these and am pleased with my purchase.

The base is sturdy, and it's simple to put together.
I use it for my DJ controller as well as to position my laptop for piano lessons. The top is made of plastic and is not as sturdy as the rest of the stand; however, it is a good value for money.
Solid legs, a stable tabletop, and a large amount of strength for a small table.
