They'd been photographed, and I knew who they were. Testimonials have been heard. Nothing matters until you put one on your turntable and see how different it sounds. There is a distinction as well.
I have been listening to records on turntables for over twenty-five years, so I am not a trendy record collector. My genuine interest in records and passion for them has led me on a quest to find the right accessories, including various types of slip mats. I recently experimented with a cork-style mat in the hopes of reducing static and removing debris. Because cork is a harder surface, I reasoned that it would collect fewer particles and debris. I was using logic based on inference, which isn't a good idea because of the common fallacies that come with assuming the simplest answer. Fortunately, I was correct in terms of debris reduction; however, in terms of static, I believe the cork mats may actually exacerbate the problem. One thing I wanted to try was a cork mat that was thinner than the one I had previously, which was super thick. This is where I came across this cool TazStudio cork mat, which piqued my interest because of the lighter layering of cork compared to my other mat, which is much thicker. I'm pleased to report that my assumption about the lighter cork mat working perfectly in deflecting particles while also acting as a natural static electricity repellent was correct. br>Not only does this mat perform admirably, but it also looks great, with its eye-catching recreation of a sun-like design. The image on the mat resembles a sun, with rays emanating from its circumference. The central feature of this sun shape is a network of flower-like patterns that, when viewed from the top, resemble a lotus flower opening. I like how the cork's natural tan/brown color is combined with a dark brown in the sun design. Because only two colors are used, you can appreciate the minimalist approach to color while still maintaining the traditional cork look. br>I'm so pleased with this decorative slip mat that I'm considering buying a bunch of them and hanging the ones that aren't in use on my wall. This mat is a collectible option because of its unique concept. br>To summarize, I am extremely pleased with this turntable slip mat and highly recommend it.
Pros:
- The design is simple and elegant. It has a lot of visual appeal.
- Cork is a light and strong material.
- Still, it's cool. During the turn br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- The use of "organic ink" and cork in the design seems unnecessary and gimmicky (though cork might be a good light material for protecting your LPs).
- It would have been better if the logo had been placed on the back of the design rather than on the front (or made smaller).
Turntable mats have been made of rubber, felt, and cork. I'm not sure if it matters as long as you have a good record cleaner, but this one looks cool, so I like it. It fits perfectly in the center hole.
