This is not a hard case, but rather a sturdy nylon bag. It's not a good idea to stack them. It's sturdy and lightweight, making it convenient to transport.
I wouldn't use records in this situation. The sides are not firm and cause minor dings and scuffs just from me going from one house to the next. You won't have control of what's on top of this on a plane, which could be a 50-pound metal suitcase, which could seriously damage records.
It's a water-based product. Nylon is a durable material, but it isn't waterproof.

These vinyl holder/carry cases pale in comparison to the more durable flight case design. I was hoping for a gentler take on it. It's more akin to a purse with a square bottom. LPs don't even fit vertically enough inside the thing to close without damaging the jacket's top. MIGHT BE USEFUL AS A CARRY-ON AT A FESTIVAL OR RECORD CONVENTION WHERE YOU WERE GOING TO BUY 20-THOUSAND-THOUSAND-THOUSAND-THOUS Even if you didn't return to the car or hotel, you'd be faced with the odd choice of leaving the top flipping around or sealing it over the LPs and damaging the top. Because of the poor implementation, I have a sneaking suspicion that this product wasn't made for vinyl at all (perhaps a Grubhub meal warmer bag). In general 1. 5/. 5 score. Very poor.

There has been no damage to my jacket as a result of the lid. To be safe and add rigor, I also have two "box" sets of classic music that I use at each end. br>br>Ironically, my collection has grown to the point where I may need to purchase a hard case, but in the meantime, this is an excellent product at a reasonable price.
