I stacked them three high (that is, three on top of each other in a single stack) and had no issues. I wasn't sure I could go any higher. I once weighed a fully loaded case, and it tipped the scales at just over 100 pounds. It would be difficult enough to lift the fourth one.
I only needed to move 600 LPs, so these boxes were ideal. All of the albums were housed in protective plastic sleeves. While closing these boxes was a tight fit, there was no damage to the albums or sleeves once I arrived at the other end of my 300-mile move and unpacked them. They worked well and protected my collection from the movers, with no creases in the plastic, etc.
Only 12" vinyl can be stored in it. There are no racks or movable dividers to keep smaller 45s organized. You won't be able to fit 200 LPs in this case if you have gatefold albums or use thick plastic protectors. Regardless, I adore mine and have already ordered a second, with a third on the way.
The Odyssey CLP260PW is a wheeled version of the CLP260. Both the CLP200P and the CPL260PW are in my possession. They're both incredible, top-of-the-line products that won't let you down. When loaded, the CLP260PW is sufficiently heavy to necessitate the use of the wheels. When fully loaded, the CLP200P can be moved by one reasonably fit person, but two people are recommended. With the wheels, you can easily move the CLP260PW on your own.

My father's beloved record collection, which dated from the 1930s to the present, had to be transported in the back of a trailer over a distance of 1200 miles. There were a lot of old shellac 78s in this collection. My biggest concern was that during the move, these old records would be destroyed. For the move, I decided to buy ten of these Odyssey cases. If you're on the fence about getting these cases, don't be. These cases are extremely durable and can easily be stacked. My entire collection made the journey without a hitch. br> Because many of my records lacked a cardboard outer sleeve, a case could only hold around 170-180 records. There are 180 songs on the album. When records were kept in boxed sets, however, each case held fewer records. Also, keep in mind that these cases typically weigh between 80 and 100 pounds. Fully loaded, the weight is 100 lbs. The recessed handles are fantastic, and the tops of the cases can be easily removed, as other reviewers have mentioned. br> This is a well-made product, and I believe that my use of it put these cases to the test. Shipping from Amazon was quick, so thank you Odyssey! br>br>An update from June 2019: These cases are not only great for moving, but they can also be used for easy access to your records by removing the lid and stacking them on their side. The attached image depicts ten of these cases, each containing around 1800 records. They're tough as nails. Once again, thank you, Odyssey.
While I won't go into technical details because that information has already been provided by other reviewers, I am very pleased with this storage crate. I have nearly 300 vinyl albums and will need to purchase a new case to hold them all. There are no complaints about the shipping or packaging because Amazon shipped it out super fast through Prime. It isn't particularly heavy, but due to the size of the box it arrived in, my delivery person had some difficulty handling it. The actual product box was much easier to manage once I cracked open the outer box. br> When I first opened the case, there was a light sweet gluing odor. The quality of the carpet is excellent! The 12" vinyls I stored in this case fit snugly, and I only had trouble fitting one oversized vinyl album (a triple gatefold David Bowie record) on its side; it could easily hold 200 single LPs, but because I have so many double LPs, it was closer to 160. That isn't a problem because I purposefully left more space than it could hold because I like enough slack in my albums to be able to "flip" through them and see enough of the cover to tell which one it is. br>br> The case's quality is outstanding. I have the impression that I could throw it from a twelve-story building and still have usable records. (I would advise against putting this hypothesis to the test. ) It's a nice dark black, with silver metal corner binders. The padded handles are comfortable, and if I were Sampson, I wouldn't have any trouble picking up this case when it's full of LPs. Because I'm not strong enough to lift this when it's fully stocked, I'd have to enlist the help of a friend. Having this case in front of my sleigh bed looks natural in my permanent residence because I have been dug in for years at my home. If I were the type of person who moved around a lot, this case would look enough like a travel case to fool me into thinking it was a holdover from a touring DJ. While DJ Shadow was between gigs, he lost some artifacts. If you value your vinyl LPs, this case is a must-have. I got mine on a refurbished Amazon Warehouse sale, but I'm always tempted to get another at the current price of $129. It's well worth your money. I'd be able to stock up and forget about everything in my house if all products were of this caliber. br>br>The Bottom Line: This book is highly recommended. 3/4/2016 br>br>Edit: 3/4/2016 br>br>3/4/2016 br>br>3/4/2016 When another case became available in the Amazon warehouse (for $106), I decided to buy it. 00) The second case has exceeded my expectations. You'll only have yourself to blame if you don't buy one because it's nearly identical to the first. This case is a must-have for anyone who enjoys their albums. I've never felt more fulfilled in my life.
It weighs somewhere around 35 pounds. I'm empty, and I'm guessing it's around 100 pounds (by feel). when the container is completely filled The best part is that you can save space by storing your LPs vertically. So you don't have to leave blank space to sort through your albums. br>br>Evidently, I'm one of the few reviewers who realizes this. Yes, you can store 200 LPs and Box Sets (as shown in the photo) without any problems. br>br>At first, some box sets didn't fit, but all I had to do was rotate them 90 degrees and they fit fine. Only one extra-large box set (Bedrock XX) didn't fit out of all of my albums. As you can see, the Smashing Pumpkins, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, and the E Street Band, as well as the K-Love Band, are all represented. Kate Bush didn't seem to mind if her clothes didn't quite fit. br>br>I purchased these because I'm moving, but they're also a great storage solution! I just ordered another one because I've been storing my LPs in cardboard boxes and now see how much space I'll save and how well they'll be protected if I ever move again. br>br>The lid only locks on one side, but once rotated, the lid can be completely removed, as shown in my photo. This is ideal for use on a regular basis. The lid is simple to put on and take off. You can stand on the case with the lid on, and it's very solid, even with my priceless LPs inside. br>br>It's a heavy duty case. This purchase has made me extremely happy. For $98 dollars, this is a fantastic deal.
