The device does not go to sleep in the conventional sense, it would be like a laptop going to sleep for a few minutes. I think it goes into standby after a few minutes of inactivity. If you're not planning to use the device for a long time, there is no reason to take out the batteries.

This is the I received a continuous stream of receiving It seems like teenage engineering has sample packs, but I always get an error message when I try to use them. I am able to record with the line in from any device with an aux input, but it can't take in entire files as I would think. A five-star review would mean that it worked 100% of the time.
