In terms of the cello, I give it 5 stars It is a great cello for a beginning cellist, but one star is deducted because of the damaging delivery provided by Amazon/FedEx. Among the wonderful benefits of Amazon is that items such as this beautiful Stentor cello are available to consumers like myself, so I'm thankful for that. That reality was ruined however by the delivery of the item. There is no way to treat a musical instrument with the care this shipment was handled with. Stentor provided a packaging that was excessively inadequate for the rough journey this cello took to arrive. To put it mildly, I was disgusted. As a second issue, it appears Amazon did not properly label what the contents of the box were and how to care for them. Feeling sick made me feel even worse. In several places, the box is punctured or dented. The box has clearly slid around in the truck quite a bit since it is coming apart at the seams. There's a peg holding the tuning of the D string that keeps coming loose, which means the scroll of the cello wasn't exactly a tidy piece of art. If it is not repaired, it will create trouble keeping the tuning. As a former owner of this cello when I was living in Europe, I was incredibly excited to pick it up, having not been able to bring it back to the states when I left. My package was packaged much more sturdy and packaged with much more care when it was delivered to my home in Prague, from Germany. This cello was in perfect condition when it arrived. It would be nice if I could say the same about the delivery inside the United States.
