Instruments like this are not intended for use by professionals. Playing it is enjoyable, and it is well made. When you look at it for the first time, you'll realize it has a much better tone than you expect. There is really good sound coming from it. I do not intend to be a professional, but I would imagine most are like this a bit, even the most expensive ones. There is only one drawback. The bars move around a bit, so you must adjust them from time to time to get an appropriate sound.

I purchased the black and white pictures for my 8 year old grandson. There is no better feeling than that. He has sheet music to play songs, which makes things a lot easier for him. There is nothing like the sound or tone of the song.

I liked the sound quality a lot. Arrived very quickly. It would have been nice if the mallets were covered in a cloth or rubber to muffle the sound some. Especially for parents with young children, the song cards included are a great plus.
