As for the varnish, it is uneven, and there are some burrs inside the eye that I had to sand off, so overall, I consider this a Since it will always be covered by the cloth anyway, I will still use it, but I'm sure I could get a better deal if I knew what I was looking for. It probably would be better to get a plastic one instead.

The Native American Flute I have is too large for the reed. I had to return it. I think it looks good otherwise.

Having wooden boards that are crooked as well as not very sturdy is not good. However, my flute swab works just fine with it.
