Questions & Answers
I have a tenor sax and use this swab to dry out the neck, but it takes ten to sixteen passes through the neck to get the swab through. Because of the tenor sax neck's curve, I don't believe this swab will pass through the alto sax neck, which has an almost 90-degree bend. The weight is too large for the bend in the neck of the alto saxophone.
For soprano saxophone, there is one.
Selected User Reviews For BG A32 Woodwind Instrument Cleaning and Care Product
Cleaning products marketed toward tenor saxophones are great for the body of the sax, but they don't fit into the neck, which has equal if not more moisture after playing. If you play the tenor sax, this is an excellent item to have if you don't already have one.
This is what I use to keep my baritone saxophone in good working order. A length of string was added to the end of the string, along with a fishing weight. It's small enough to keep the baritone saxophone clean by pulling through the entire instrument. It also cleans up well in the washing machine.
It's been discovered. Swabs that wipe but don't absorb are a waste of time. This BG swab is well-designed, absorbs moisture, does not get stuck in your instrument, and can be washed. Although BG makes a mouthpiece swab, this one easily passes through my Van Doren CL5 mouthpiece.
This is an excellent swab for the neck of the alto saxophone. When you compare the cost of the item to the amount of material required to make it, you might think it's a little too expensive.
This swab is ideal for piercing the necks and mouthpieces of saxophones.
For high-end wooden clarinets, this is the best swab I've ever used. br>Absorbent to a high degree.
It performs admirably. It's made of tough material and works well for swabbing his clarinet.
