D'Addario Zyex Viola Single A String, Long Scale, Heavy Tension

After college, I bought my neglected viola back and began playing regularly at the church I sing at, so I decided I needed to replace the strings. Because the stakes are low, I thought it would be worth attempting different strings to see if I could do better. My old strings did not sound as good as my new ones, so I acknowledge that at a point, any strings would sound better than them. Still, these are special to play even with that in mind. The recommendation of my teacher led me to use Thomastik Dominants. My initial reaction was doubtful that I would notice much difference between brands, but I It is hard for me to play because I have little fingers and now I have a chronic illness with lots of pain. Moreover, I have always felt my vibrato was not strong, and I felt that my C string sounded dark and muddy. I almost would have mistook this C for the Dominant had I opened it up, it seemed too skinny for C! The scenery is still lovely, however. The easier hand make them even easier to play with a lighter touch, and my vibrato has gotten so much smoother and This is the perfect piece for church music intended for meditative purposes. In general, I find my sound to be cleaner, and I have to work a bit less to achieve it, so I enjoy playing all the time. Plus, they're less expensive My instrument is more fun to play now that you've inspired me to play it!.

The 16-inch would be perfect for them. Prelude strings are included with this 5" student viola. There were some brash, metallic overtones to the Preludes that didn't agree with me. The Zyex were a vast While they're still bright enough for my taste, they don't appear as brash or loud. Since I use Helicore on my violin, I consider it a good choice, but I am glad I chose Zyex instead.

Strings like these present a very good value for an affordable price. A complete set of synthetic strings is excellent value. bow around the strings evenly and have a decent amount of projection. There's a feeling that the A string, and especially the D string, make a lot of noise in higher positions, so I might consider replacing those with warchal strings. Strings two and three have a beautiful, strong sound and excellent balance to their tones these two I think I will keep using for quite some time.

It is normal for me to use the heavy gauge for my particular viola, but I decided to use the medium gauge The strings aren't quite as powerful, but they're easier to play, good middle of the road strings, especially if you don't feel the need to approach your viola with a Pinchas Zukerman approach. This long scale is perfect for my viola, which measures 17 inches tall. *If you are a heavy handed player, you might be better off with heavy gauge strings.

For my 16-stringed guitar, I purchased this string set. I have a viola that is 5 inches long and they sound amazing. It is this issue that I have set the strings on my viola at a room temperature to stretch them out and allowed them to stay that way over I discovered that the A string broke exactly at the ball end today when I went to tune them up again. Since I did not overtune the string or put a lot of strain on it, buyer beware. It might happen to yours too. I managed to implement a fix that allowed me to use the A string, but boy did I experience disappointment. This results in a 4 out of 5 star rating. I must say, though, your tone is great.

(Sounds good, but I need to replace all my strings soon. The medium tension would be the most appropriate, but I wanted to try out the heavy tension nice The extra warmth could help bring out some nice tonal qualities, but I would like to hear it while using a thicker bridge. Mine isn't particularly thin (it's "normal"), but the extra warmth could make it a little more interesting.

As viola strings are expensive, at least the ones I've tried, I thought I'd test these 'new' strings on my old viola. I was hoping to use synthetic type strings on my old viola. This is amazing! What a great set of strings. and rich sound all the way through. My favorite part was the C. It has such a deep round full rich sound all the way to the top. You will love them too if you try them for a reasonable price.
