It's not designed to pass beneath the foot of the bridge. Also, I'm assuming the electric upright has a piezo pickup built in?
I'd be happy to assist! Although many players do not use preamps, having more tonal control is never a bad thing.

It was on the E side of the bridge that I first tried it. It had a nice, full sound to it. I really liked it, but I hadn't put in the effort to wedge it into the bridge. I watched the video and noticed that they installed their equipment on the G side of the bridge. As a result, I filed it and pressed it into place. When I plugged it in, it didn't sound nearly as full as it did on the E side, so I tried to pull it out and relocate it to the E side, but it was destroyed in the process. It was a good lesson. I'll probably get another one later, but for now, I'm cursing myself.
I had to adjust the back rubber surface by heating it to make it larger so that it would fit into my bridge. Be careful with feedbacks because this is a very sensitive mic. My only gripe is a slight but audible ground noise, which I believe I can resolve by wiring the female socket to the endpin in a discrete manner.
Installing it was a breeze, and it worked perfectly. You must be willing to make minor adjustments to make it fit, but it is extremely versatile and durable.
One of my doubles is bass, and I recently landed a good gig that required a pick-up. I wanted to meet the tech requirements without breaking the bank, and this setup accomplishes that goal admirably. It only took me about ten minutes to get up and running. I took it for a spin and was blown away. In retrospect, checking the response before unstringing the G to mount the P-string would have been a better idea. I have a clip for the jack, but I won't need it any time soon. This one's for the bookshelf.
He was genuinely concerned that the product functioned properly and that I was happy. On my upright bass, the pickup performed admirably. This product comes highly recommended by me.
On a Dean electric upright bass, this is how it looks. I wasn't happy with the piezo pickup that came with the guitar. The Blueberry Pi was wedged between the bridge and the body without the use of adhesive. I connect it to my Bass Driver DI and adjust the volume there or at the amp. That sounds fantastic.
It's especially useful for jazz music. Whether it's with or without a bow, it'll look great either way. One of the best things about the Northern Lutherie pickup is that, despite being a little more difficult to install, it is extremely cost effective for the level of quality it provides.
I'll be back for more without a doubt. And the quick service is unbeatable: I received my Blueberry Pi on Friday afternoon and used it all weekend. My upright bass now sounds better than it has in a long time!.
