At least, that's how I feel about my tailpiece. The arm does not extend far enough from the tailpiece to allow clearance for the string ball. The ball is simply pulled against the tailpiece by the tuner. I've never measured this part of my violin before, but the distance between the edge of the tailpiece and the beginning of the hole is 7mm. They'd be fine if they were loop end strings, but they're too small for anything else. I have no idea what type of violin they are. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Still tried to use one, and it shredded the string a little, but it appeared to be holding. I couldn't even make a quarter-tone adjustment. After 3 minutes of playing, the brand new string popped. It's just awful. What purpose do these serve?.
This is a low-cost product. Even though I greased the threads, turning the knob while tuning is extremely difficult. After I tuned the string with the peg, one of them wouldn't even adjust the tone. The knob's threads were completely stripped out, and it simply turned without raising the string note. I wouldn't recommend these to a complete novice. Make sure you don't throw your money away.
These are supposed to fit a 3/4 violin, but they don't. We were able to get one to work, but only if it did not endanger the violin's wood. We must keep an eye on it to ensure that the wood is not scraped.
The body is identical to the one I removed from my 4/4 violin in terms of size. Aside from that, they're a waste of time. To fine-tune my violin, I will need pliers. I'm glad I saved my 30 year old fine tuners, which I'm currently soaking in WD40 in preparation for reinstallation. These are complete rip-offs.
I BOUGHT THEM TO REPLACE THE CHEAP ONES I HAD BOUGHT BEFORE. THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING. GOLD IS BEAUTIFUL, HEAVY, AND OF HIGH QUALITY. THEY ARE PERFECTLY IN TUNE WITH ONE ANOTHER.
The end strings were extremely tight to install, so I used needle nose pliers to slightly open the G string tuner. Because my tailpiece was old and quite long, I only had one. The tuner has 2 mm of play, which is fine because it only moves a few millimeters.
My daughter was disappointed because she had just received her new violin and one tuner had been stripped, so I ordered these because our local music store did not have them in stock. She needed to play right away, so thanks to my Amazon Prime membership, they arrived quickly and worked flawlessly, not to mention the priceless smile on my daughter's face.
They barely fit my size 4/4 violin, and putting them in was a nightmare. One of the strings wouldn't fit because it was too small, so I had to switch them around. I wasted a lot of time on it, and I was disappointed to discover that one of them arrived with very chipped sides. The gold at the top had also chipped slightly.
