Questions & Answers

My cello was recently purchased. CECILIO FULL SIZE 4/4 ACOUSTIC CELLO is the name of the instrument. I'm not sure if this is the same as the 44 that was mentioned earlier. Help! ?

Yes, it's the same, and I bought it as well 44=4/4 in this case.

Is it possible to play this on a 3/4-size cello?

This is designed to fit a full-size cello. I don't think this will work because the finger board on a 3/4 is slightly smaller.

Is it possible to apply colored tape to this instead of attaching it?

It was never put to any use. Instead, my daughter's teacher used a few strips of white tape.

When you remove it, does it leave behind a sticky residue?

Yes, sticky residues accumulate over time on the fingerboard, but they're easy to wipe away with a damp cloth.

The line markings are precise, and I noticed an immediate improvement in my finger placement
5/5

I'm an adult beginning cello student, and my teacher used masking tape strips to show placement, but did so incorrectly, causing me a great deal of frustration because I couldn't tell if the tape placement was incorrect or if the strings simply needed tuning. When I placed my fingers where he had placed the tapes after several days of practicing and making sure the cello was perfectly tuned, it still didn't sound correct pitch. I came across these and decided to try them, but my teacher dismissed them because he wasn't familiar with them. As a musician with experience on other instruments, I'm unsure whether it was a true issue with the tape location or simply a newbie to the instrument not realizing it needed better tuning. I finally had enough of practicing not being fun because I was trying to play with the tapes, so I removed the masking tape and replaced it with this. What a stark contrast! The places marked on the adhesive guide line up EXACTLY in the right spot on the fingerboard! Now I can play with confidence, knowing that my instrument is tuned properly and that I can see where to place my fingers correctly! I wish I'd known about it earlier. With the pitches being slightly off due to incorrectly placed tapes, it would have saved a lot of frustration and unhappiness.

This is an excellent tool for studying and practicing
5/5

I am an adult learner who supplements my self-study with a once-a-month session with a professional instructor. This is a general guide rather than a precise map of positions on the fingerboard; for example, second position on my instrument is just above the corresponding line, while fourth position is almost a finger space below the corresponding line. I find this guide very useful in my efforts to look at my fingerboard less- I practice in front of a mirror so that I can see where my hand should go without having to look at my neck. This guide is also more appealing to the eye than my instructor's sloppy tape strips. I've successfully uninstalled and reinstalled the guide multiple times. In general, I find it to be extremely beneficial.

At least for me, loosening strings and adjusting the bridge isn't necessary
5/5

I used to have three strips of some kind of tape marking frets on my cello that a teacher applied for me, but now that I play in all positions, those few markers were no longer as useful, so I removed them, figuring I should be able to find the right notes with my ears by now. My practice was significantly slowed as a result of this. These stickers are fantastic; they assist me in maintaining my vision. So much more enjoyable to read. I also wanted to point out that because tuning a cello is such a pain, I was able to apply this sticker without loosening the strings or touching the bridge, which I didn't measure anyway because I wasn't going to move it anyway. Everything is in order. It's not perfectly straight (hence the need to place my fingers just slightly above the markers on the high end), but it's doable and, according to my electric tuner, quite accurate. It has the appearance of a protective film that comes on touchscreen devices and begs to be removed; there are small bits of trapped air, so it doesn't look great; however, I probably should have cleaned the neck better before putting it on, so my fault; however, it does the job and does not appear to have affected the sound in any way (except that I sound better over-the-top). all because I can hit the note on the first try rather than stumbling around looking for it).

(My violin's vinyl guide is incredible!) It's incredibly simple to put on and take off
3/5

The markings are visible, and using this product has improved my playing; however, it is difficult to apply, and the adhesive leaves a sticky mess on my fingerboard; I would prefer a vinyl finger guide for cello, but I haven't been able to find one. (My violin's vinyl guide is incredible!) It's incredibly simple to put on and take off, and there's no mess involved!.

I recommend it because it's only a little
3/5

if you're familiar with the notes' sounds Notes differ slightly from tapes, but only slightly, so I recommend them. It is not a problem if you are familiar with the notes' sounds or if you want to be sure, use the metronom. Also, I was under the impression that Don't Worry would have all of the lines, but it only has 12 or 13 lines, so the rest is missing. I understand that the rest of it is intended for professionals and not for newcomers like me, but I just wanted to mention it so that newcomers like me are not misled. And it's already enough, and it's expensive for a piece of paper, even if it was laid out according to note measurements. As a result of the price, I give it three stars.

This product is great, and it fits my cello perfectly
5/5

This product is great, and it fits my cello perfectly. I play on an Eastman beginner cello with Jargar and Larsen strings, which are both of excellent quality. Some people have expressed dissatisfaction with the tuning accuracy. To put it on, you must first remove the strings; you cannot simply slide it up the fingerboard, so it is a delicate procedure. I'm also confident that the sound will be more accurate if the cello and strings are of higher quality. What I like about this product is that it's a great way to practice finding the same note on different strings and in different shifting positions, which will help you play more advanced pieces where playing a note in a higher position makes more sense.

Simple and quick to complete
5/5

These are fantastic. It's a little pricey, but it's ideal. Cut the tear-away with scissors. off the beaten path Remove the paper from the back of the book. Place each section between the bridge and the neck stings. Slide it into place and press down from the center outwards. Carry on with the next section. You won't have to loosen or retune the cello strings as a result of this. Despite the fact that the picture shows 4/4 and 3/4, this is for a full size cello.

Stupidity at its finest
3/5

The sticker arrived folded in half, leaving a crease on the fingerboard that rendered it unusable. When I tried to flatten the crease, the sticker disintegrated and turned into trash. It also left a sticky residue on everything. I'd come back if I had more than a few small pieces of plastic with me.
