Place it between the D and G strings below the bridge, twisting the strings through the two holes. Grasp the overhanging nub and place it on the bridge.

These are just as good as the name brand, and since mutes seem to vanish after a year or two, I'm glad to have two for the price of one

The edges are not as smooth, there is no name imprinted on it, and the slots for going over the strings appear to be in a different location than the name brand. But once it's on the cello, it's the same, and I doubt anyone will approach my cello to see if my mute has a name on it. I'm pleased with my purchase and will recommend it to my students, who are prone to misplacing their mutes as well!.

Cello is played by a high school student. He loses them and we have to replace them, so the two-pack is a great deal. These are very effective. They are to his liking.
