Questions & Answers

I have a 16 inch viola. Will this work?

In short, yes. My 16 3/8 viola is the ideal instrument for mine. Worked just fine with no problems!

This bow is very heavy. How much does it weigh?

cannot give you the exact weight of the instrument, but I can tell you that it is lightweight, and my high school junior likes it (the instrument is at school so I cannot give you the

Do you know if it will work with a 15? Can you play 5 violas?

I agree - This is what I use with my 15-inch. The fifth degree is viola. I love this bow because it's sturdy! It was a pleasure to be pleasantly surprised by the high quality music, as I am a cellist of 21 years who also dabbles with viola!

Can you tell me if this bow has a brown or black carbon fiber? In the picture, it is hard to tell. ?

Black was the one we received. And I'm still very satisfied with it, as well!

Generally, it performs like my old French bows that I had for about $xx,xxx
5/5

My husband had a much more expensive carbon fiber bow he was not using so I gave it to him as a stocking stuffer to find out whether the violin model was comparable. In the end, we brought both saw bows with us to use on our most recent European concert tour to promote the CD release. It provides a great sense of security that we will not risk an overly concerned Customs agent seizing our old French bows, and I would recommend it to any professional for this type of use, as well as outdoor use. This is a bargain bow that is as good as those that costs tens of thousands of dollars. You might as well lend them to your students. This note states In addition to the violin, I have purchased this second guitar (third if you count the violin one) so I can have a backup for my.

In addition to those beautiful hairs, goldflex Pirastro has a good rosin The bow is a bit heavy on the tip, and my pinky has to exert a bit of energy to keep it in place
4/5

As far as sound is concerned, aesthetically it is nice. Sometimes I play with almost no tension on the bow, making the hair sit on the rod, but in 4 months of playing 2 hours a day without exception (including weekends and concerts), as well as occasional extra work, I have not seen any scratches, decolonization, etc. The rod of the bow has a proper curvature. This is one of the best values around (should be a 4), especially for this price. The game is worth 7 stars, but I can't give it that rating

update The bow hairs are very delicate, and I have lost quite a few hairs not enough to make a notable difference, but enough to say that I have lost at least 20 hairs, and I make sure I hold the bow carefully.

I enjoy it very much
5/5

This is the first time I've seen this. Nonetheless, I've played it nonstop since the day it was released. compared all of my bows, from cheap to expensive, and this has become my new favourite. I have a bow which is more expensive, but it needs rehairing, and I do not live near a bow repair shop, so that could influence my choice. There is a cheap bow in my closet (it is going in the garbage) which makes a sort of Therefore, the violin bows in the house (which do not count since they are violin bows) are OK. A smooth tone and weight are two qualities that separate this Vio braided carbon fiber bow from the others in my collection. I like the way it looks In terms of the pearl dot pattern, everything looks just as I expected it to.

The weight & balance are normal, the price is good, and the looks are good
4/5

It does not matter whether it is a carbon or a wood bow you want, it is a good value. It is an attractive-looking device. In most cases, the faux work is barely noticed (e. g. I am a florida native An "inlay" is a stamped image, a wire wrap is a piece of This is a good starting point The bow measures 70 grams in weight, and the balance point is 249 mm from the frog, except for the button. The bow is a great fiddle bow, especially at this price. In both measures, the bow is in the normal range, with a slight tipping of the balance A heavy load. A stiff stick is good for fiddling (also stiff for playing). It has good camber and a straight shaft. I only have one complaint the screw is a bit too tight. There is no initial rosin on the horsehair (which is good). It is good, but I would prefer it if it was slightly frog-like Bows that are weighted for speed and emphasis By compensating, I find that I am choking up. The bow I bought for the octave violin has much greater accuracy and volume than the bow I bought for the violin.

That bow is really nice! In order to improve the viola equipment for my part in my college's orchestra, I chose better quality equipment
5/5

The carbon fiber bows have been getting good reviews, so I looked around and found this one for a decent price.

The first thing I noticed with this bow is that it is lighter than my previous bow, but I find that to be a positive. Compared to my previous generic brown bow that I purchased from a local music store, I notice an improvement in sound quality. In addition, the sound is more crisp and I am able to tone a smooth and solid note at a pianissimo level (with my previous bow, it was difficult to play such a solid note at such a low volume). A possible example Unlike the bow I received, my bow did not include the pearl dot screw as advertised.

The plastic tip on the tip was broken, and it cannot be repaired
3/5

Up until the first time that the hair popped out from the tip, the bow was fine. It was just playing expressively before it broke, so it had not been used in an unusual way. In this case, the hair is just held in by compression that I tried to fix several times. As soon as I discovered there was a crack in the plastic piece at the tip, I realized the repair was not going to Adding the blue was part of my final attempt to repair the damage.

The fiddler gave a grade of A+ to the piece
5/5

When I play in a band on viola and violin, I often swap between the two instruments. A bit of fiddling is included as well. Due to sometimes cramped venues, I tend to play with just my viola bow on both instruments, however my original bow that came with my violin was quite heavy and awkward when playing the instrument. The handle is reasonably good. It's lighter and much easier to handle. Because I would bounce the bow on accident a few times, it took me a couple of gigs to become comfortable with, but I've used it for a few shows now and I am happy with it. It was too good to be true!.

It gets better and better as time passes
3/5

Hopefully I will be able to save up to buy a bow in the future. I find that it is significantly heavier than the cheapest bow at the store, and that it looks A bow that costs way more and is so much better than the cheapest one in my local store would be great if I saved up for it. There needs to be some better standards for people who give five stars because "it's straight".
